Hugs
I just got my bird a week ago (tomorrow it will be a week) she was hand-fed so she is very sweet and she always comes out of her cage with much ease. but whenever i come close to her she starts screaming! i don't know what to do!! she is fine whenever i leave or i just let her sit on a perch, but she screams whenever i come into the room and when i am holding her!! she has been doing this for 3 days now. she didn't do it when i first got her either though she started it on the third day please help me! Love, Natalie
judygram
Natalie, maybe you should back off a little since it has only been a week you have had her, she hasn't had enough time to settle in and feel comfortable and you may be trying to rush things with her. Its better to go slow if she is afraid, talk to her softly, tell her what you are doing and let her calm down before attempting to do anything with her. She might not want you holding her yet until she feels comfortable doing so. Just be patient with her and she will let you know when she is ready for more. Some greys settle in quickly and some take more time but don't force her or it will backfire on you. I see this is your first post, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and this grey.
