dmarie Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 just waiting on our first grey coming hearing conflicting stories as to wether we should have them as a pair or if he,l be ok on his own with us
Luvparrots Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Congratulations on your new baby grey. If you have any pictures to share, we would love to see them!
judygram Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Hello Dmarie and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your new grey. I think if you have not had a grey before you should stick with getting just one, a grey is a big responsibility and a lifetime committment and having only one will be enough for the time being. You can always add another later or another bird of a different species if you like. Have you ever had any parrots before? You should read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.
JillyBeanz Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Oh, take it from me, as a learner, one is more than enough!! Harvey is 8 months old and has me run ragged!! One's fine - believe me! Welcome to the forum - it'll be lovely to see some photos of your new baby
she Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I have one grey and thats enough for me. I also have a cockatiel who is a real live wire,so no more for me at the moment.
danmcq Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Welcome dmarie!! It's GreYt having you here. :-) One will be enough, especially if you spend plenty of time with it. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Joolesgreyuk Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Hi DMarieI agree with everyone else, one is enough to begin with but be warned parrots are addictive and it won't be long before you are seriously thinking of adding to your flock
dmarie Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 well thanks every1 thats some good advice. think al get to know my wee baby first then maybee think about another.
judygram Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I think you made the right decision, you can always add another bird later but beware of MBS, Multiple Bird Syndrome, its contagious, once you get one then you want more.
JillyBeanz Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Ha Ha! Just reading this post back - Erm, Julie - how many birds do you have? Just the one?
judygram Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I think she has two Jill, her grey and she just added a hahn's macaw, remember:blink:
