Gloria Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 I have read that since greys love to chew , fruit tree branches can be provided. My question, I have researched and have not found the mulberry plant in either the toxic or safe list. Does anyone know whether it is safe or not. I have a big mulberry tree in my yard and I want to offer it to my grey. Does anyone know?thanks, Gloria
spookyhurst Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 According to the following site, mulberry is safe. We used to have a lot of mulberry bushes where we used to live, and the wild birds loved to hang out in them. We had purple poop all over the place . http://www.mdvaden.com/bird_page.shtml

Post edited by: spookyhurst, at: 2007/07/14 05:30

Gloria Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 Hi, yes I did name him after Kofi Annan. I wanted something that reflected his heritage. Kofi means born on a Friday in the language (I can't remember) and I ended up picking him up on a Friday.
Tricky Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 What other kinds of branches are safe? How can they be sterilized?

Gloria Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 I prefer to sterilize the branches by placing them in the oven. About 300 degrees for 30 min. Keep close eye on them to avoid a possible fire.
