bobbisgran
Hi, my CAG is going on 9 wks. She seems to be trying to stand on the perch I put into her cage. What is the normal age that they are able to perch? Is there anything I should be doing to help or is it a natural process. So far I have been placing her on the perch and holding her so she feels secure. Figured it is sort of like a baby walking.
judygram
Put all the perches low in the cage so if she does climb on them and fall she won't fall far and put some towels or a blanket on the bottom to cushion any falls she takes. It takes some time for them to master perching and it helps to keep everything low until she gets better at it. You can put newspapers on top of the towels/blanket to keep them from getting so soiled by poops.
LuvThoseGreys
I agree put the perches low, he'll gets the hang of it...sometimes it takes them awhile to figure it out. He is kinda young yet.
