Normal Weight?

I weighed my 15 week old Congo African Grey tonight, he come out at around 485g, im just wondering if this is a healthy weight for his age? Also, can anyone tell me when he will stop growing? The breeder who we got him from said he was a big bird so I'm just wondering if he will get any bigger?

Your grey is pretty much grown as far as weight is concerned, he might lose a little when he fledges but at around 485 grams he is one of the larger greys, my Josey weighs around 420 but there are some that weigh in around 600.

my grey is 510 grams and is only 9 weeks old... i think hes just a big one

He will lose some weight when he fledges.

My largest grey is a Male who is 19 months now and weighs on average 500g.

 

The other two are smaller.

If you look at that thread - I weighed Harvey and he weighed 475g - he is now a steady 430 - 440g (I weight him after his bomb in the mornings) - initially I was worried that he'd "lost" so much weight - but when I think about the exercise he gets - no wonder!

Well there are small, medium and large frame greys so the weight varies with each, Josey weighs in at 425 grams so she is about medium. They can weigh up to 600 or more grams, now that is a big grey.

Both mine only weigh around 400gms, keep being told theyre underweight but both eat well are healthy and have excercise.

My Biscotti weighed 478gm when I brought him home, he dropped quite a bit when he started flying alot. Down to a low of 418gms. He now weighs around 458 gms, he is 4 months old. He is very active!
