dirtybirdy
Good grief, my grey loves to dip everything in his water. I change his water and like an hour later it looks terrible. He dips everything before he eats it. Sometimes I think he does it because he is bored. I have toys but it seems like that's how he likes to spend his time. Are all of your greys dippers? judygram
Mine does from time to time but it is not an everyday thing, I guess it just depends on whether she is in a dipping mood. Maybe if your grey has some foraging kind of toys that he has to work to get the treats out, we have some threads in the bird food room that may help you with ideas and suggestions. I see this is your first post, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us some more about you and your grey, like what is his name? Char
Is the water dish on the same side of the cage as the food? If so then move it to the other side. Whisper only dips every now and then.
dirtybirdy
Yeah, the water is on the other side. Crazy bird picks up the food and shuffles to the other side!
judygram
Josey's water bowl is on the opposite side of the cage from her food dish also but usually the only time she will dunk is when she has some toys made with colored wood pieces and she would take those apart and dunked them into her water bowl to make the water the color of the dye, she made some pretty purple water a couple of times.:side:  :silly:
dirtybirdy
Crazy. Mine dunks all of the ZuPreem before eating it but specifically doesn't like the purple ones. He either leaves it in the food bowl or dunks the purples ones and never retrieves them. The water turns purple too. We also have another "reserve" food bowl under his main food bowl. He will throw food down to the second bowl and beg for more food. It's like he is stock piling for Y3K!

Luvparrots
Ana Grey dipped more when she was younger (she is a year old now) but she has now stopped or only does it occasionally. Now my Eclectus is a notorious dipper!
