GorgASS
i was watching animal planet's 'most extreme' today and it was about animal's living in big cities. anyway number 2 was the crow. there was a crow that liked walnuts but he couldn't crack them open, so he sat on top of a light pole and dropped them onto the road and waited until a car ran it over and smashed it open. if that wasn't enough, it knew enough to wait until the people went in the cross-walk to know it was safe to get his nut! how's that for a smart 'bird brain' lol. just had to share
judygram
I know that crows are very smart birds, when my hubby plants corn in the spring they wait for the shoots to come thru the ground and they pull them up because they know there is a kernal of corn on the other end. Luvparrots
I have heard that story (or one like it) before and find it fascinating! Thanks for sharing it GorgASS!
dhorje
At one time all our metal clothes hangers went missing. Only the plastic ones left. One day, I saw a crow stealing out metal clothes hangers. I was wondering what the heck they want to do with our hangers. One fine day, I was walking past some trees and I saw lots of metal hangers in a tree. They were using the hangers to make nest. The hangers were bent into all kind of shapes. Joolesgreyuk
GorgASS, I have seen a similar programme to this. Birds are far more clever than people give them credit for.

dhorje
A couple of months ago, my wife witnessed a cat injured a crow on the street. The entire flock of crows came to the rescue. Some stood on the ground trying to protect the injured compatriot. They screamed and screamed to drive the cat away. Eventually, the cat left.
