Getting a baby!

We're so excited! We put a deposit down on a baby grey last week. He or she should be arriving in early september... can't wait:)

 

Because my breeder does not band(she believes it is can be harmful can cause broken legs if the leg band gets caught) I'm thinking about microchipping. Would it be a very bad idea to get the baby microchipped during her/his vet health checkup? I would have only had the baby a day or 3 at the most and don't want to overwhelm it,especially since they will be shipped up the east coast.

Congratulations on your new baby. The time for Microchipping I believe would be best when you and your avian vet determined the time would be right. Can't wait to hear more about your new baby. I'm excited for you!

Congrats on finding your baby grey! I agree with Janet, you and the vet should be the ones to decide when to microchip. Can't wait to see some pictures of your new baby.

Fantastic photo.Charlie is microchipped. I had him chipped while he was under a anasthetic for blood tests a few years back.
