MsGardeness
Hi everyone!! I am still getting used to my new Grey baby who is 18 weeks old. I brought him home 5 days ago and am amazed by him everyday. I just weighed him tonight (I know - wrong time of day but I just remembered - LOL) and he weighs 505g. I was wondering roughly when they will be considered at their "typical weight" and "fully grown". I've name this fella "TOEBIE" as he has one white toe and toenail! He's the love of my life along with my other 3 parrots and about 95 finches. {Love-0002006C} Yeah you could say I'm a little nuts about birds. judygram
Hello MGardeness and welcome to our family, we are so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Toebie. What a cute name and I like the spelling too in reference to his white toe, seems we have at least one other member who has a grey with a white toe but I don't remember who it was. He is about at his full weight by now, they grow fast and I doubt he puts on any additional weight but he is a big boy alright. What kind of parrots are the other three? I have a sun conure along with my Cag, Josey who is 3 years old. Wow you don't have many finches do you, do you breed them? You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them and ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. We love pictures here so if you have some of Toebie you would share with us we would appreciate it, we also have an other birds room where you can share some of the other parrots too if you like. Luvparrots
Hi MsGardeness, congratulations on your baby grey, Toebie. Is he a CAG or a TAG? When you get a chance we would love to see some pictures. You can also post pictures and information about your other three parrots in the Other Birds Room as we are all curious to know what they are. Can't wait to hear more about your fids! Welcome to the grey family!
MsGardeness
Thanks - quick replies too! I will post pics of all my parrots tomorrow. I have 2 Pionus (1 Bronze Wing and 1 Maximillian) and 1 Eclectus (all females). So Toebie (yep spelled for his unique toe!) is the only male parrot and he is a Congo. Yes I do breed a variety of exotic and rare finches. Thanks again - seems like a friendly forum! Hope to get to know you all better over the next 50 years or so! judygram
I just wanted to tell you that you will fit in real nicely here as all of us are a little nuts about our greys and only grey lovers understand how we feel so you are in good company. MsGardeness
Thank you all for the warm welcomes! A special HI to lovethatgrey - nice to see you here too!! :silly: I'll have to start browsing the various forums and see what's going on to get acquainted with this site and check out how to set up a 'signature line'! Sure wish I could stay home all day with my fids... but somebody has to work to support them!

MsGardeness
Thanks! I found where to create my 'signature' but all the fields have a big red "X" beside them saying they will not be viewable. I did try to set one up anyway but nope - it disappeared. Oh well, maybe I need to have a certain number of posts before I can make a signature - I'll try again in a week or after some more postings.

Post edited by: MsGardeness, at: 2009/08/07 20:
JillyBeanz
Hi MsGardeness - You'll have a great time here. These people above/below (depending on today's software) are all my heroes! Harvey is here today because of them (researching as a "guest" and they still didn't put me off getting a CAG)! Love the name - I think it'll be unique! Looking forward to seeing pictures of your menagerie! Boy, you have a load!

When you click on edit profile, and then forum settings, the last two boxes are for the signature. You have to put the same thing in each box for the signature to show. I just changed mine and thats what I did. I put it in one box and it didn't show up so I put it in both boxes and it showed up. Good luck.

Post edited by: caitb2007, at: 2009/08/07 20:
judygram
The site is having some problems with the updating profile section and until that problem is resolved you may just want to hold off on adding a signature, hopefully it will be taken care of soon. It has nothing to do with how many posts you have.
MsGardeness
Okay - thanks a bunch (I keep saying that) but thanks. I'll hold off on the signature for a while. I guess I'd better post pics soon. I will, I will as soon as I get 5 minutes!
