rayyan Posted August 1, 2009 Share Posted August 1, 2009 hi everyone i finally recieved my aviator harness this morning after a long wait! i watched the dvd and luckly i had been practicing the wing touching and face touching since i have had him hes 15 weeks now. i got him out and i put the harness on, there was a slight hiccup as he kept grabbing the harness with his naughty lil legs! but we managed it in the end! i took him outside and he had a look round then bought him bac in and took it og and fussed him! im very happy! and he wasnt chewing it either! rayyan Posted August 4, 2009 Author Share Posted August 4, 2009 i puti him in it again last night and took him down the garden he really enjoyed it and im definatly going to take him out as much as i can, i suppose it gives them a lot of stimulation as i know they are very clever birds so the benefits are obvious. hes a little monkey and is really cooperative when being handled.and we had done .l.ots of practice b4 i recieved the harness. tho i did read in the leaflet that just cuz they let u puit it on the first 5 times doesnt mean they will continue to let u put it on. fingers crossed tho! Codys Mom Posted August 4, 2009 Share Posted August 4, 2009 I agree u might run into trouble putting it on him next year , they tend to forget what it is, KC my Eclectus knows he cannot go outside without his harness on and after a few times in the begiining of the nice weather he will fuss and runaway it's like he forgot what the harness is , then maybe about the 3rd time during the nice weather season he is usually ok , so I do think they actually forget Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JillyBeanz Posted August 5, 2009 Share Posted August 5, 2009 Harvey forgot after two weeks of being at my parents - and now we are having a little power struggle to get it onto him! I'm not as scared as I used to be about his insistence that he's not putting it on and I win when I'm chasing him round the dining room!!
