Adaya has a very bad habit of chicken scratching in her food dishes and she is constantly emptying her bowls and wasting an enormous amount of food. so I changed her food dishes to some that have covers over them so she can't do that but now she's terrified of the new dishes I don't know what todo now any suggestion I can't afford to go through a 5 lb bag of pellets and seed mix twice a week just to give it to the birds outside. its getting very expensive.

How about if you only gave her a small amount at a time? I have read that they will waste it if given too much at once. She will learn that if she throws it out then there isn't any more.

Yes if I give Ana Grey too much food she drops through the grate what she least likes and eats all of her idea of "good stuff." Less to choose from, less selective eating and less waste!
