chimaysmommy
I recently started making a little treat to go with Chimay's fruit breakfast--banana mashed with a little peanut butter and flax seed. He goes crazy for it, and his little beak gets so messy (but it's still cute). Well one morning over the weekend, I made it, he ate it, loved it, and FLUNG it like a champ!!! We were watching TV letting him eat, and on a commercial I happened to look up at his playtop and there were globs of it ALL over the wall behind his cage. My boyfriend and I just looked at each other and sighed "oh well." So rather than chance smearing it everywhere trying to clean it up, we ran a few errands and planned on a big clean when we came home. Well one (or both) of us forgot what happens to fruit when it's exposed to oxygen..... We walked up our apartment stairs and I gasped. It looked like POOOO all over the walls! The banana had turned a nasty dark brown and seemed to amplify his mess 10 times over. Needless to say, I love the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Ha ha ha!!!

Post edited by: chimaysmommy, at: 2009/07/16 22:
judygram
That is so funny but you learned one lesson, never leave anything with fruit in it on the walls or it will be one heck of a job to get off, I would have paid big bucks, that is if I had any, to see the expressions on your faces when you came back. :woohoo:
chimaysmommy
Oh it was a comical sight to be sure....I could do nothing but laugh, Chuck just kept shaking his head, and Chimay was just as chipper and proud as could be. It's too bad that Teflon is so poisonous to birdies....I'd love nothing more than to coat our whole apartment in a microfilm of the stuff

Post edited by: chimaysmommy, at: 2009/07/16 22:

myafricanqueen
Yes yes yes! Hardwood laminate anything that can be wiped mopped and sanitized!!!! Thats what I have too its wonderful. I have a dust buster to grab all that dust and tiny feathers that float around if you just sweep, then sweep, and finally mop! EVERYDAY I DO THIS! Trust me when I tell you I find very yucky things on the wall on the floor, onmy shirt LOL!! But they are my babies and I love em all!
