  1. Hi First d like to say sorry to every one. I posted a thread and took what some people said the wrong way. I think its because im from New Zealand and didn't understand the humor ha ha. I feel like a bit of a fool now. Anyway we have had a lot of really big earth quakes and Earl who is only 7 months old is really spooked. He has become really needed of me, all the people he use to love he now bites and growls at. Has any one got any ideas how I could help him to relax and trust people again.
  2. Sorry I didn't mean to a fend anyone. Hes always out of his cage when I'm home. Its only when I need to do something that might be dangerous for him to join in. I think a couple of your replies weren't needed. I have found this site really informative and enjoyed reading all about what every ones Greys are up to, but after this I wont ever be asking for advise again.
  3. Hi, I'm hoping everyone can give me some tips on how to make my baby happy to stay in his cage when I'm in the room. I don't mind him being out, its just sometimes I might be doing something that he cant be part of/ dangerous for him to join in. As soon as I put him in, he goes to the bottom of the cage and tries to dig his way out lol, or if I'm close he will go to the top and try and squeeze out of the cage. Ive tried to ignore him like you would a child ( dosn't work ) Ive tried telling no, it just makes him worse. Any ideas???????
  4. Hi every one Thanks so much for all your welcome posts. I have tried to put some pics of Earl put can't figure it out. I will wait till my kids wake up and see if they can do it for me lol. I do have a quick question for every one. Since i bought Earl home I have been sleeping him in the small cat cage I bought him home in, because he fell off his perch the first night and i got such a fright. He really seems to like it in there, im thinking its because it feels safe and secure. I get up at 5.30 am and put him back in his big cage. I'm wondering when/ if I should try him back in his big cage for the night. I have no trouble putting him to sleep in the small cage at night i just dont want to do any thing wrong lol.
  5. Hi everyone, Ive been popping in and reading posts for a couple of weeks now. I've just bought home my baby Earl his 12 weeks old. I had to save for 3 years to get him, because in NZ African Greys are still very expensive. I am totally in love..... I just keep looking at him and smiling.
