  1. " plastic office mat" why didn't I think of that LOL Thanks!!!
  2. there is lots of toys, bungies etc in his cage now, that is from when I first got him ... and I agree LOL will try to get an updated pic ... the problem is he hangs out on the front part that opens and causes a huge mess with poops and food ... was thinking if he hangs out on the play top, it will keep the mess to a minimum PLUS, it's a pain to clean that cage LOL, thought the other one might be a tad easier thanks for your feedback talon!!
  3. current cage was thinking of replacing wally's cage with: Puna Paradise Hybrid Bird Cage - 42" X 26" X 61" any of you guys have thoughts about the Puna Paradise Hybrid Bird Cage he always hangs out on the front of his cage, have no skirts on the bottom of it and food and poop always go on the floor. thought the play top would keep things easier for cleaning and fun for him  never really measured the one he has now but it is huge, and I assume about the same size or a tad smaller than the puna paradise cage (to answer BillinIndiana)
  4. "Maybe consider pushing in a little to fill the frame when you edit." ... will do, thanks for the tip
  5. "The good news is, normally when they lean like that, they are focused on where they are going to go." ... yes I will definitely keep that in mind when I see him positioned that way from now on, it does help for sure thanks
  6. " When he opens those wings slightly and bends forward, he is seriously thinking about flying to where he is looking." ... oh, he has taken off before after that, so that is kinda what I thought, but he does that a lot when we talk to him and he looks at us talking to him i'm always so scared he's gonna get hurt on something during landing after flying, I read some threads about "accidents" banging into things etc and am forever worried
  7. Yes, it's that time again, Wally part 4 is now ready for your viewing pleasure He's getting used to some new toys and we are all having a blast in the process. I have been staying very busy keeping him busy. LOL Hope you enjoy part 4 and thanks for watching! PS: the swinging perch in the video is the one I ordered to put in my room so he can hang out with the flock more ... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?197858-mess-catcher-apparatus&p=275957&viewfull=1#post275957 BUT ... until I can get him to step up and carry him around, there is no way that is going to work LOL, silly me. So I'm hanging it near his cage for now. (the hammock I got for below just hasn't been attached yet, I have big bin covers upside down on the floor for now under the swing) did you miss out on parts 1, 2 & 3 ? see the following links ... Wally Part 1 - our new family member ... a flock created http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?197776-Wally-Part-1-...&p=275384&viewfull=1#post275384 Wally Part 2 - enjoying the birdie truffles http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?197873-Wally-Part-2-is-now-available-...&p=276037&viewfull=1#post276037 Wally Part 3 - plus a "how to" home made parrot treasure bag toy http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?197929-Part-3-Wally-in-2013-enjoying-his-home-made-treasure-bag&p=276438&viewfull=1#post276438
  8. OMG ... what a sad situation ... sorry to hear what your flock is dealing with, I can't even imagine. I will put you guys in my prayers.

    food bowl

hmm, wally must be weird then I was switching his bowls for clean ones, dropped one on the other outside the cage and he seemed to freak out like ... "whoa, you scared me", didn't seem to enjoy it at all LOL it must be they need to make the sound themselves, or else it just startles them
  10. how cool is that ... wow, nice I have been trying to figure out how to get my Wally to come to me, I'm gonna try this ... he loves truffles enough this just might work. He looks like he's wanting to fly over as I put them together if he is out of his cage to begin with LOL very nice video, thanks for posting it, I enjoyed it
  11. "give your finger..dont be scared. Lastly..trust her..even if she does give you a bite (i got one or 2 but they were just nips- so didnt hurt at all)...dont move away." easier said than done LOL (at this stage now myself, and it's just "instinct" to move away)
  12. Wally LOVES these home made treasure bags and he gets so excited as I put the "fresh" items in it cause he know's what's coming next since the last update, he has said, "wow" and "my name is wally" he also just started ringing his bungie bell, which I recently came to realize is not totally a great thing ... this bell can be dangerous and is getting removed this week. it is getting swapped out for this bell (click here) which is made of extremely durable, stainless steel, this bell features a thick chain link hanger and bacteria-resistant surface for play exercise and fun. still hasn't gone on his swing did you miss wally's other videos? you can watch them at the following links: part 1 part 2 Treasure Bag Ingredients a nutri-berry wrapped up in plain brown paper into a truffle brown paper and unbleached coffee filters krinkled up as filler organic spinach leaves wrapped up in a coffee filter a carrot piece wrapped up in a coffee filter a grape wrapped up in a coffee filter a few natural grain egg noodles thrown in loose a few bird pellets thrown in loose 1 cheeze it thrown in loose 1/4 of a cardboard toilet paper roll the brown lunch bag is then twisted at the top (no ink on any of the brown paper) There you have a "treasure bag" of pure shredding fun!!
  13. that valentine heart swing is nothing but plastic ... would never give it to my Wally (oh, the perch is not plastic) a quote on a straw toy youtube video "nanitesnodes 9 months ago Plastic wont pass through his gizzard trust me I know. Its gonna cost me around 1000 us dollars to have it taken out. nice bird though" be warned before giving the bird plastic ... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?59362-Concerns-Chewing-Plastic-(Wiffle-Balls)&p=96125&viewfull=1#post96125 a quote from: http://www.forthebirdsdvm.com/pages/the-a-b-cs-of-non-food-items-that-birds-love "Soft plastic and vinyl toys can be quickly destroyed and eaten by parrots. Cute? Yes! But these toys can end up in a bird's stomach and either release noxious chemicals as they degrade, or resist degradation for long periods of time and act as irritants or obstructive foreign bodies. Parrot owners are often surprised that their bird actually ingested a portion of the item it destroyed. A careful exam of a birds dropping will often yield evidence of recent nonfood ingestion." I'm sticking with straws fitting in the "soft plastic" category and I am totally shocked at how many bird owners think they are ok toys for their precious bird.
  14. hahahaha, I couldn't have said it better myself. I did enjoy it very much ... Thanks for sharing!!! from me too!
  15. me too! ... I try to let wally out at least once a day for about an hour and try to spend at least another hour total between getting ready for work and bed just "bonding" near his cage. I just ordered a ceiling swing to get him a place to "hang out" with me, hubby and the chi's to spend more time with him where we hang out. If this plan works as expected, I hope to have at least 4 hrs a day with him outside the cage and with the flock... that would be nice!
