  1. Merry Christmas all. I've had baby Rosie three weeks now and on my previous post I was stressed as she was extremely hard work and stressed herself I think. Well things have moved on a lot and Rosie has settled in nicely. So she steps up and down and flys to me on command. She is already use to being sprayed and I have got her harness on her twice now after a few weeks of getting her use to it, so roll on the summer. The thing I most pleased about is potty training if I tell her to go poop she will fly to her T stand poo and fly back to me! She has the odd accident but she's getting it and I'm in ore of her intelligence, it's quite amazing. Her moods are unbelievable as well, sometimes she is so calm just sits next to me having a scratch, clicking her beek. Othertimes she is utterly mental like she's just drank a can of red bull it's hilarious! She has also got use to my for year old daughter and her little friends. She would puff up and growl at them when they get to near her cage, but she's stopped that now! Her eating is going ok I guess she loves porridge, gulps the stuff it's amazing to watch. I put alsorts in her oats as well, palm extract baby food fruit or veg, crushed almonds. However she doesn't think much of zupreem fruity pellets which is a shame! So I think all is going well so far but any comments/advice always appreciated! All the best, Chris.
  2. Many thanks to you all for the advice and kind words. I just lifted her cage cover and she seems relaxed and happy so must have slept well, so did I! I will keep you posted on Rosie's progress. Thanks again, Chris.
  3. Many thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay I was asleep! Lol Rosie is from a breeder in the uk and I had been waiting patiently for her for a long time and she finally arrived yesterday. Like I said she had about a four hour trip here in a van which clearly stressed her but she seems much better. Not eating much but clearly relaxed now as she has been standing on one leg pruning and chirping away. As you said I guess stress is expected at first until we both adjust. I'm looking forward to the challenge of training her and in particular being able to take her out and about in the summer. I have brought an aviator harness which I will introduce to her soon once she's properly settled. How about you what bird/birds do you have and how's the weather in Texas? It's freezing here at the mo -3 degrees! Thanks again, Chris.
  4. Hi first post and after some moral support I guess. Got my new baby grey Rosie today and its fare to say I'm tiered! I think she had a stressful trip here today so her welcome gift was a good bite that drew blood, I sucked it up and didn't make a fuss. However by this evening she was stepping up on my hand and had a few flights with crashes around the lounge. I could only get her to eat apple and pomegranate so I'm a little worried about her going to sleep not full. Rosie looked tiered and was starting to roost so I put her cage cover on and all is quite so hopefully she's ok! Think I did ok? but I do feel a little stressed! Cheers Chris.
