  1. Judy Im technologically impared... im having the hardest time uploading anything.. and I mostly do everything from my phone.. I guess I'll have to get on the computer and do it.. if that doesn't work I'll call for reinforcements. ..aka THE HUSBAND! lol and thank you for your feedback.. I thought that's what it was.. I knew not to touch around tail/vent area.. but I didnt know under wings was a hot spot too.. thanks again.. I'll keep working on the video. . Lol its hysterical!
  2. Hi sophie! Its me stormy!!! Im not a baby anymore but I gots lots to tell u!! Stop chewing roms keys!! Lol so... my birthday was the other day.. im 1 now.. so I do big girl things... I think.. I call the dog! It makes her look at me funny with her big head. . Her name is truffles.. so when I dont see her I call her just like mom does... then I tell her to sit and stay... she doesnt listen but I tell her she's a good girl anyway. . I also give her treats.. but mom doesnt like when I give her treats.. I take my food and push it out of my cup onto the floor.. the dog seems to like it.. she gobbles everything up! I guess she does choke a little.. but thats not my fault.. go get a drink u silly puppy.. its fun to torture her! Uh oh.. moms coming.. if she sees me on her phone my tail feathers are in alot of trouble! Ttyl..
  3. Lol sorry nancy... been so busy.. life takes over and u get caught up.. im trying to upload a video of stormy being silly calling our newest edition Truffles.. A 5 month old english bull dog.. so glad to be back!
  4. Hi everyone! Its been a long time since I've been on the forum. Stormy is quite the character at 1 year old. Her birthday was the 4th of this month. She loves to call my 5month old English bull dog... constantly! Heres my question for my seasoned grey owners.. when we are sitting and petting and just hanging out stormy starts making this really weird/funny almost panting sound.. now I think its a bonding thing but being that ive had more experience with Amazons and macaws I wasnt entirely sure.. I also thought sexual maturity.. she has done this with both me and my husband.. any insight?? Im not worried.. theres nothing stuck in her throat .. she does this when we're calm and relaxed. . . It almost sounds like excitement.. let me know if any of ur grey babies have done this..
  5. Quick update.. stormy is now 18 weeks old and fully weaned! Thank goodness! As much as I love watching them get feathers and grow into real birds I can't say that I want to do this again! That is until the next time I get an offer I can't refuse! Lol she's really got her wolf whistle down! I knows she's practicing her phrases but I can't make them out quite yet.. but I know its words... and I just love when all is quiet and she belts out the predator screech because her toys have the nerve to swing back at her when she pushes them! Lol oh what fun it is to watch and listen to her... that's all for now.. hope everyone and their feathered children are well!
  6. I have been so busy that I haven't had much time to get on the forum. Stormy is now 16 weeks old, almost weaned and what a little chatterbox! Lol she has started to whistle and kiss... and every day when she is on her high perch basking in her sun, she will mumble like nobody's business! I can almost make out some of the things she says... she makes this neat chirpy laser like sound ... and she has chosen my husband... lol but still loves me too... we each have our own relationship with her and its very sweet... we are blessed..
  7. Talon, other than cement perches which are the best thing ever, u could insist that u hold ur babies .. that's what I do.. do u have therapy or cement perches? They really do an amazing job.. I've never had to trim any of my birds nails.. I'm so sorry u and rikki went thru that... I don't think I would've been able to keep my cool with that vet tech...
  8. Awe! I was never into small birds, then I got one. Lol his noise didn't bother me, but as murfchk said my vet told me not to have them in the same house with my baby stormy... I miss that little bird! He had so much character, but I wouldn't chance stormy getting sick for anything... I was wondering if cockateils carry the same diseases or if its just love birds and parakeets... anyone know? Theyre my favorite small bird...
  9. Jay , Maggie THANK YOU!!!! I told you Its been a while, and because she is a breed of bird I knew nothing about I read too many "opinions" instead of going with my gut...thank you again ...:-)
  10. Thanks wingy... I'll try that too... its just so frustrating because this is such a crucial time for her... she will be 12 weeks old Monday... I would relax about it if I saw her eating more solids from me or on her own... I appreciate the insight... :-)
  11. Stormy is refusing her morning feedings now... I have offered her everything imaginable, she looks interested then waddles away from it.. I'm going insane with frustration... she eats at night, but in the morning when she should be starving she won't eat! So after trying to give her everything by hand or spoon, I put her veggies in her cage along with moistened pellet, dry pellet, water and oatmeal mash... she spills her water and doesn't bother with anything else... she is a decent weight in the morning from the feeding the night before then by the time I weigh her at night its an alarming difference... example.... yesterday am..373.. wouldn't eat much.. 4pm 372 same thing... 8:30 pm 356 before feeding.. 426 after 65cc. This morning she was 371 and she flew up into the ceiling... and played on the table.. I was able to get 15cc into her today... I made a mash with apple juice and smashed pellet which she liked yesterday but not today.. I thought she might not be liking the Harrison pellet so I used the roudy bush.. still nothing.. of course my vet isn't open today... she looks good, sitting on her rope perch preaning and cleaning herself.. very active... any thoughts? Suggestions? Am I overreacting?
  12. We just got back and the vet said she looks great and I'm doing a fantastic job! Hearing that never gets old... lol and I was right to worry because I know that birds have a way of masking illness and when they show signs its usually too late.. but she is fine.. her weight loss is right around the 15% range.. she said if she goes down to 360 then we worry... but she is in fact weaning and is down to 2 feedings now.. and got a little lift in the vets office! Thanks again everyone for being so supportive... its so nice to know there's someone out there who actually gets it!
  13. No not yet.. lol I've been so hectic I promise to post some tonight.. for some strange reason I lost my album too... its cus I do all my computer business on a tablet! Lol
  14. Stormy has been losing weight and although I know she is weaning and getting ready to fly I'm still concerned... and with the recent heartbreak of some of our members I'm not taking any chances.. please pray that I'm worrying for nothing... I'll post after we return from our 4:15pm appt...
