  1. Not a problem! I hope she gets better and it's nothing serious. Thank you guys for the support.
  2. Wow Sarasota! Crazy! It was worth it though. Good thing they ok now.
  3. Alright so just got out from the 24 hour emergency. Got some medicine to help prevent infection and also some antibiotics. Going to follow up this coming up week days with an actual avian specialist. Thanks to all who replied and wished me luck. I will keep you guys updated!
  4. I'm currently at the 24 hour pet emergency care. The vet told me it is an open wound and it is going to be treated as one. Still waiting here...
  5. Looks like I will be taking her to the emergency then.
  6. I am not 100% sure if it's a puncture wound of any sort. It may just be a simple scratch I am praying that it is.
  7. Hi, My name is Tony and I need some assistance. About 30 minutes ago I was spending some time with my African grey which her name is Kiki. Anyways, I got up from the sofa and went to put her back into her cage and I noticed some blood on my thumb. So I looked around and I had flipped her over while she was hanging from my hand ( it's a trick I taught her to do ) and I found what looks like a wound of some sort. It is not leaking any blood and she is acting 100% normal. She eats and drinks water normal, I gave her a few treats for behaving excellent, she flaps her wings normal. Doesn't look like she is any pain of any sort. She plays with her toys normally in the cage which the picture I attached you can see her and some of her toys. I also attached a picture I took relatively quick where the wound was. I am not sure what it is or what may have caused it. I was looking inside the cage to see if she hurt herself from inside the cage like any of the toys was sharp or the cage itself or anything in there that can possibly do that. Also, I almost forgot she sometimes gets on top of her cage and she glides down since her wings are trimmed, she glides down and sometimes she hits the ground what I think is hard. She has done that a lot since we got her and nothing has happened. Here is some more information. I had her when she was about 6-7 months old and she is over a year old now. Yesterday I also noticed some blood on my thumb but thought nothing of it I just thought it was a scratch from her nail. Her cage is cleaned regularly, fresh water and food/treats. She gets attention on a daily basis. I had Kiki a little over a year now. I'm assuming she had that wound for few days now as you see in the picture, the blood looks fresh. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. I would like to try and refrain from taking her to the avian hospital as they charge over $90 just to take a look at her and who knows what she has that could cost a lot of money. Any other information you need just let me know and I can reply. Thanks.
