  1. Thanks jayd i will make some modifications. The nest box is "L" shaped and both of them fit inside comfortably I will add extra bowls but I can't put out a water bowl had that originally and they made a disaster they prefer tipping it over rather than drinking out of it.I appreciate your input it has helped a lot and I will keep u up to date when she's ready to nest again
  2. Thanks jayd but like i said i have seen them copulate she is steady every year come January she prepares the nest they become very aggressive with me.you can't see from the pic but they have a huge food dish 2 rabbit water bottles pine chips bedding.I really believe it is the nutritional values that are lacking i will start introducing eggs and greens tomorrow as well as seeds i believe she might go to nest again in July hopefully by then she's up to speed if that doesn't work i will take to the vet.
  3. I have built them a 8 by 3 aviary with a proper breeding box with I bought from a manufacturer in the states I have two 200 gallon tanks running in the same room lights are fixed at 14hrs (timers) I am trying to send pics but won't let me upload
  4. So Jayd are u saying u think that diet is the problem with the eggs not hatching like I said the birds are doing everything there supposed to they look like they will be good parents just really pissed if it's been my fault this whole time.
  5. Will she/can she lay another clutch this year?
  6. She is sitting on eggs hardly seen her in the past month I was going to feed eggs but read was just better to feed her high quality pellets. They do everything right so maybe I'm not some advice please on what I can do to ensure success please.
  7. Thanks for replying jayd this is the first time these 2 have had eggs she was with another male but after 2 clutches not 1 was fertilized so I got another male.I do see them copulating this is why I am surprised they are not hatching
  8. Hi everyone I have a pair of african greys which have laid eggs a month ago I thought everything was fine until about a week ago I started to see liquid coming out The eggs looked fine perfect around the top and sides but as of today they are dented and obviously no good can someone please tell me what went wrong?
  9. Thank you for your reply greatly appreciated I have 2 companion greys looking to get into breeding so I guess this forum is not what I'm looking for after all so thanks to all who have tried to help me but its time to move on thanks and goodbye for now.
  10. So since no one could answer my question on What are my greys up to I took it upon my self to tranfer my greys to a smaller cage.I have a camera system hooked up lighting system on timers and a nightlight, they didn't move all day but as soon as the lights went out and the nightlight went on they got very active my male dropped his wings and started his dance and really started pestering my female so is this normal behaviour for greys when the lights go out and can they mate at night any info is appreciated thanks.
  11. thanks for the response judy but I have done alot of reading I didn't just run out and buy african greys without knowing what I was getting into. The reason I'm in this forum is because I do need to learn more since I haven't breed before. I have 4 AG`s 2 pets 2 breeders so from what I understand there is a courtship dance and feeding each other which are signs of breeding and since I don`t see this behavior but do see alot of time spent in the nest and a increase of food intake also a hole in the pine shavings in there nest box I thought I might get some info from some experts first hand since the books don`t really go into the little details.I thought since my question was a simple one I might just get a yes sounds like early stages of breeding or even a simple no the books can`t tell me this but an expert can.So to any experts out there can someone please give some insight to What my greys are up to Thank u.
  12. ok thanks dave I guess what ur saying is yes they are starting to breed which would be fantastic but again is this early signs because they still don't feed each other or groom each other does that come later when she is ready to lay? P.S this is a different set of african greys than my posts from a couple of months ago those ones are strictly my pets now.
  13. Hello everyone I have a pair of african greys and don't really know what there up to.In the morning when there lights come on they are very vocal so I go down and feed them and after they get there fill about an hour after they both go into the nest box and then the male comes out and the female stays in the box for hours while he sits outside quite and very still.Where i'm confused is are they showing signs of breeding because I haven't seen them feeding each other or jousting with each other any help and or advice is appreciated thanks in advance.
  14. Hi there again so l put up the nestbox yesterday and the male has been in it most of the morning while the female kept peeking in and now they are grooming each other is this the norm for a pair ready to breed any feedback is apreciated
