On May 5th, I received a call that a baby Congo African Grey was ready to be purchased. I added my name to the waiting list two months prior--there were four people ahead of me. Not even an hour later I arrived at the bird shop and there were two African Greys; a Timneh and a Congo. I chose the Congo because of the way the bird and I bonded instantly. The next morning I was making food for the bird and my boyfriend was looking at the bird and it started flapping its wings. I turned around and it wasn't flapping its wings. I turned back around to focus on making the bird's food. It started flapping its wings again and my boyfriend was like "look, look! Its doing it again!". After two times of doing that I tricked the bird and looked before my boyfriend could say anything. Iti immediately stopped flapping its wings.... mischievous little thing and in that moment I named my bird Loki. I really hoped it was a boy, but three days later I found out it was a GIRL.
