Ordered a new cage first thing this morning can not wait for it to arrive.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome we already feel part of the grey flock I'm hoping to get to know you all and your beautiful birds I thought we would join a few forum's so that we could make some friends share tips and get some advice, When I got him had already been re homed twice I noticed that he kept trying to bathe in his small water dish he's scared of water so I have slowly been trying to get him used to it he now sits close to the sink with the water running which is a big step for him, Also about his wings from what I know he's always had them clipped he can glide a little however I would like them to grow out but am worried as he is quite big and clumsy that he will hurt himself, It's early days and I think it could be a while before he trusts me completely but he's getting used to his new home and family while growing more confident each day he has a huge personality and is completely disruptive but looks really happy so that's all that matters to me.

Thank you for all the reply's and after seeing him today I think Casper would prefer to stick with a playtop, He currently has the Bolivia Play Top Parrot Cage that I got with him but thought it was time to get a new one as it's seen better days, What about this one? http://www.ideas-4-pets.com/rainforest-santos-play-top-parrot-cage-stone-555-p-4054.html

Thanks Kimijean for the link however I'm in the uk so am not really sure if what I would need to do to receive the results, I've just spoken to the vets and they said that it would be possible to do a DNA and health check at the same time as he does bite a little although less than when I got him I thought this would be the way to go.

I rang my local vets a few days ago and asked if they could do it they said there hadn't been much call for it but would check and see what lab if any they could send it to but they still havent got back to me, If anyone has any links to sites where you can get the test kits that would be great.

Hello and thank you for the warm welcome, I've been looking into getting him DNA tested, As I have only had him for 2 weeks I thought we should get to know each other before I attempt to get some feathers although not really sure if that's the only way for him to be tested? I will be posting pic's soon as I'm a very proud parent

Hey I’m new to this forum, I have just got a African grey his name is Casper and I have been told he is male and that he is 6-7 years old he loves his biscuit’s and toy's, He has a ring on his leg and I’m trying to find out some more about him and where he is from, He was not treated very well and becomes anxious when left alone, He does bite a little however he is slowly getting use to me and his routine, Although I haven’t had him long I know we will be friends for life.
