  1. Ok, trying to post the only picture of Penny I have that is on the computer so far. I used photbucket. Hope this works. This is a baby pic of her that the breeder took. She is now 7 months old.
  2. Thanks! Pics coming soon. I need Penny's dad for help with that. My VCR still blinks 12:00 if that is any indication on how "techie" I am.

    Beak Question

Thanks for the reassurance. I am probably worrying over nothing but it's really nice to hear from experienced bird parents. Thanks for responding and easing my concern. If she should get worse, I'll try to get a good picture of her beak and post it.
  4. Thanks for the welcome. Penny is excited to meet another Penny! She was named by the breeder after the TV show BIG BANG THEORY. She has two brothers, Sheldon and Leonard. We liked her name and she was responding to it already so we kept it. Thanks for answering my beak question too over in the Health Forum. I will post some pics soon.
  5. Penny, our 7 month old CAG, rubs her beak on things all the time, not just after she eats. We try to wipe her beak after she eats but she REALLY DOES NOT LIKE THAT and prefers to do it herself. I have read that beak scraping is common behavior but my concern is that she has rubbed the top of her beak so much that it is actually wearing away her beak in a little area across the top. Also, at the very tip of her beak she is doing the same thing and I am worried it will get so thin it will break off a chunk of it. She is healthy and happy other than this. She has plenty of toys she chomps and splinters to keep her beak trimmed. Am I being too much of an overprotective mom or is this behavior something I need to try to stop? Any thoughts on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks for any help.
  6. Hi CAGS, TAGS, moms and dads. Penny and I have been reading your forums for months and have learned so much from all of you. Before Penny came home, these forums helped me to give her everything she needed. Penny's hatch date is July 2nd, 2011 and is now 7 months old. We brought her home in October. She has taken over our hearts and our home and we couldn't be happier. She is smart, playful, outgoing, loving and fearless. She is saying her name and barking (we have dogs) and whistles so well that the dogs come running thinking my husband is calling them. Thanks to all of you for all the great information and advice I have found here. Penny is much happier because of everything I have learned from you all. I will post some pictures when I get them uploaded to the computer and hubbie is here to help. Have to run. Penny wants her breakfast!
