So, it's 1am and about an hour and a half ago I got up from bed to hear my grey making weird sneezing/coughing sounds. He was making this sound repeatedly, then stopping for about 10 minutes or so and doing it again. He hasn't done it for about 20 minutes now. He was also doing something with his head what looked to be like a regurgitating motion, but very forcefully, like he was throwing up and shaking his head afterwards. Other than this he's been totally fine. Eating, playing and climbing around his cage like normal, but I'm extremely anxious about him now and will probably stay up all night googling bird illnesses. Being a hypochondriac really doesn't help me.
Anyway, was he going to throw up or regurgitating? How do I tell the difference? And sorry if this is a stupid question, but what exactly does a grey's sneeze sound like? Is it loud or quiet? I don't know if they are wet sneezes or not because I wasn't nearby him when he was doing it, and he doesn't appear to have any discharge or swelling on his nares. Also, I can't tell if the sound he's making is a cough or a sneeze. It sounds more like a cough but some sources online say they don't cough and others say that they do. Sigh.
