  1. BBlack, Petrie is a very cute Gray! I remember bringing Earl home from the breeders the day after his eyes opened. My wife and I got to feed him formula, then ween him onto pellets. That was quite a bonding experience. Earl is closer and more trusting than Gem or Linus, whom I got from pet stores.
  2. I just broke down and bought a Manzanita Tree for my birds to play on. Now comes the challenge of getting them to acclimate with it. Right now it is sitting where they can see it. Poor Linus, he went to the back of his cage to "Hide". Gem and Earl are just wary of it. I give it a week or so and all three will be playing on it.
  3. I agree, no shoulder. They do like to bite ears too. I always make my birds perch on my hand. I like to look them in their eyes. Once you get to know your friend it becomes a lot easier to read them.
  4. I would suggest experimenting. My Earl prefers paper toys. Gem likes rope and wood toys, which he destroys at a fast pace. Linus is afraid of toys. I can get him to play with a piece of yarn or something, but he is very timid.
  5. I have three of these for my Grey's. Here is a link to a site http://www.birdscomfort.com/travel_bird_carriers.html I put all three of my birds in the back of my Explorer and away we go. Just make sure to have water and food for them.
  6. I found that sometimes if your bird is being picky eat whatever food you are offering your bird with them. Also, be very vociferous (Mmmmmmmm, yum, yum, yum) you would be surprised how far those tricks will go. 8-)
