I just got a 4.5 month old CAG three days ago. So far, mostly everything is wonderful with her. However, she's got a concerning habit of flying off of her cage when she's at the very top. She's crashed dozens of times by now and I'm terrified she's eventually going to hurt herself (she's clipped and does NOT land gracefully). I've tried small modifications, like moving her cage closer to the couch, where she seems to be aiming to go, but then she just flies past it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, whenever she's in her cage for the night, it seems like she throws a hissy fit for about 10-20 minutes. But that manifests itself as her scraping the edge of her food bowl with her foot and crouching into that corner. Is that just an attempt to make noise and let her out? We don't, of course, but it's a curious little quirk that I'd like to know more about.
