  1. Ok i know, its not the same bird. Currently mother has a 'keet. Pretty much she cleans it I entertain it lol. I know a grey and a keet are not at all the same kind of bird but I am wondering, since I want a grey, are there any similarities? I feel I am getting this keet pretty tame, but knowing i want a grey I am trying to keep in mind the grey is a different breed!
  2. Again i say this is good to know lol. Working in a grocery warehouse i get a discount on many things including vinegar. And veggies! For the most part I had only seen vinegar used for washing windows, with a newspaper of course, but that was with my great aunt lol. And she is still doing it! Them older folks know whats up lol.
  3. Yes I Agree lol. But when i do get sick (like now) i just try not to spread it around.Like you said washing hands is best , but sometimes a little extra is needed .
  4. This is good to know, is it useful as a spray? i mainly use lysol on things such as my computer keyboard, mouse, doorknobs etc. ?
  5. I don't have a grey yet, but i tend to use lysol to disinfect daily used items of the house (not quite ocd but i believe in germ control lol) . I understand I should never spray it near the bird and I wouldnt. I am just wondering how bad if, at all, it would be for the bird if used in the same room?
  6. Its good to hear that they can adjust to a schedule. Im pretty consistant when it comes to that anyhow. While currently i live with my mother when i get my own place i did plan on getting another bird for the greys company. Mom has a very talkative parakeet i can only imagine how it would be with 2 birds lol.
  7. The more and more i read and see, the more amazing these birds are to me. Almost sounds like he is mimicking a nintendo game at times lol
  8. I was kinda thinking (AND Hoping) that would be the case. I hadn't thought about their naps they take , but i also forgot to mention i do work 2nd shift so there would be plenty of daytime of me being there and whatnot. Getting home around midnight or so tho I am wondering how cranky of a bird would i have? lol
  9. Hello all. I have been reading a bunch of stuff on these forums (and other resources) and the more i read the more I learn. I have been wanting a gray for a long time now, but am not going to rush into things since it is almost like having/adopting a child lol. This forum has been a great source of insight and am happy i have discovered it. I suppose my main question for the most part is the fact that I am a single guy, and work 5 days a week 8+ hours during the summer. Summer is over tho so most work days are 8 or less. How is that going to affect the bird ? I know they need a lot of interaction and i want to give him/her that. I dont want to get a gray and have no time for it. Its like having a german shephard sog and live in a studio apartment. Id never do such a thing. Thanks for your time all and look forward to hopefully in the near future sharing a common familly member:)
