  1. Oh she has a bit of a temper. If she doesn't want to be touched or moved she will definitely let you know it. My kids say they are gonna teach her how to say, "watch out cause I'm PMSing, I will bite"...lol. She already flies pretty well. She doesn't really like the harness all that well, but I think its because it fits her a little big. I think (well I hope) once she is fully weaned and gains some weight that she will not fuss with it so much. Yesterday I was cleaning her cage outside and I took her harness off and put her in the cage outside while I finished putting all her toys back in the cage and she was standing on one of the perches comfy as can be and just soaking in the sun and the breeze, when my oldest son put his hand in to pet her and she let out a scream and bit him. My younger son which plays more often with her said to him, "watch she wont bite me, thats cause you dont play with her enough". Once he got near her there went the beak to the finger...lol. She must of really bit him because he was mad. I still laugh now because my oldest son was laughing so hard. I kept telling them she is confortable there leave her alone, but they didn't listen. Usually when she doesn't want to be picked up she will put her head down for a tickle, but she didnt even do that. It was like leave me alone. I love her so much. I am enjoying her so much - temper and all. Her and I have an understanding and she never even attempts to bite me. She bites me and in the cage she goes so she never even tries it with me anymore. She seems to be pretty smart. I only took her to her cage 3 times and the biting stopped. She seems to like females more than males, although she gets along with both my boys. lol...Right now I am in my office typing this and she wanted a tickle, she went all the way to the keyboard and stuck her head under my thumb and when I kept ignoring her she softly bit my thumb and start her temper tantum where she moves her head up and down and all around like some crazy bird. I'm enjoying her so much. She loves her veggies although she wont eat them unless I give them to her. We are starting to experiment with other foods and I plan on making her some of the recipes from the forum. LOL LOL she keeps wanting more tickle and keeps picking at my finger and trying to get under them. I love her so much. I will try to post some pic later. I'm gonna go take her to her cage cause she is falling asleep. I wanted to thank everyone here who has helped me with my questions and troubles along the way.
  2. I was thinking that, that is what it means. I also thought it might mean she is mad or something because she usually does it when I put her in the cage. Lately she's been doing it quite a bit, whenever I put her in her cage.
  3. Hello, haven't been here for a while, but Gypsy and I are doing great. She has gotten potty training down packed. She doesn't like to be in her cage and spends most of the day on the window sill. When ever she is in the cage she goes to one corner and begins to dig with one foot. She used to do this when she would sleep in the box I had for her when she was younger. Does anyone know why she does this?
  4. For the last two days he's been reluctant to take all his formula at all his feedings. Yesterday I was gone for most of the day and only returned to feed him at 4 and then I had to go out again. I usually give him vegetables in the afternoons, but not yesterday. Last night all he wanted to do was cuddle. I think he had about 40cc because I kept insisting. Then we went to the sofa where he slept under my chin for about an hour. This morning he only had about 20cc's. I cooked him a green bean, a piece of broccoli and a piece of carrot. He ate as long as I was there and kept reheating them, but not all of it. Sometimes he just swallows them whole. I think he's gonna be a stubborn little guy. My question is, how do I know if he is getting enough food? Also, I read somewhere that when they start eating on their own their crops don't grow as much. He loves cheerios! Is too much bad for him? He can't yet break apart the small seeds but he picks at the millet. Right now he's in the bottom of his cage making all kinds of sounds. He's beginning to get really vocal. He's looks very happy right now and content. He's been practicing his sounds. I'm dying to know what his first word will be. I will try to post a video of what he's doing when I'm feeding him.
  5. Watching Shooter and browsing the forum.
  6. Keeping my CAG nice and warm has he snuggles under my chin.
  7. Thank you everyone for the reply. Don't know what I'll be doing but I'll let you know how it went. ```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` That was my CAG saying hi.. He seems to enjoy the keyboard more than he does his toys.
  8. I read you have to pluck 3 to 5 fresh plunked feathers from their chest. Does that hurt them? Will he hate me for doing that. What is the correct way to do this as to not harm the bird? I'm thinking of letting my husband do it so he doesn't hold it against me . I ordered the kits today. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results back?
  9. He is around 8 weeks old. When can I start to spray him or bathe him?
  10. Oh it's a coincidence you ask. Just today I tried putting the harness on him and it went pretty well. I only had it on for a couple of minutes because I wasn't sure. I can't wait for him to get a little older. How long should I keep the harness on? Also, how would I go about filing or clipping his nails. Every time he gets on my fingers he murders me. My son grabbed him today and wanted to drop him when he felt the nails dig in on his fingers, but he held on and said he will never be doing that again.
  11. Oh, that is great news. Thank you very much.
  12. Ok. Thanks. So, if he is fine today, which he seems to be doing great. That seed is probably not going to cause a problem? I hope not. He ate some more pellets and loves the cherrios. I havent given him anymore seeds. He eats banana and apples. He sometimes swallows some of the pellets as well without breaking them apart, but only the small ones.
