1. Here's the website - http://www.birdtricks.com/ - If you sign up for anything you will be bombarded with emails, but he does have some good advice. Good luck!
 2. I saw an ad on the Internet for bird training. The ad offered a clip showing training using a clicker. I bought a clicker and used it with great success to get my Timneh to step up onto a dowel. I want to use it to get him to stop biting but don't know exactly the procedure to use. A tip from the same guy that has the ad on the internet said to shake your arm or hand that your bird is on if the bird starts to bite, but I'm still a bit scared to try as his bites are hard! Anyway the clicker followed immediately by a reward worked just great to get him to "step up".
 3. I use the medium size Lixit for my Timneh. Have been using it for about 7 years. He likes it fine and sometimes he does play with it and gets water all over the bottom of the cage. I refill and rinse it out when it gets down to about 1/3 full. I bought one for my Quaker. I just got her about 3 months ago and she is 5 years old. She was in an aviary type setting and never got played with. I have worked with her and she is really getting sweet. Hope I will be able to get her to talk eventually. We had a Quaker for 15 years, he was the best! He died very suddenly and the only thing I can figure is he may have gotten problems from being on too much seed so I switched Rosita, my new Quaker to Roudybush pellets right away. Anyway I didn't mean to get carried away, but yes, we do use the Lixit and love it.

Post edited by: mtcart, at: 2007/04/25 04:44
