Oh my goodness, what a cute little fellow! So glad you get to see him everyday. I get to bring my baby home on May 28th. I got his cage ordered tonight. I am getting excited. thanks for sharing the pic of you little cutie!

My little fellow's breeder called last night & told me he is almost weaned! She said he just turns away from the feeding now & is eating real food on his own. I am so excited! We have made plans for me to drive there on Friday before Memorial Day & pick him up. So, I have got to get the cage ordered now. I have an eclectus but her breeder sold me the cage for her & I don't even remember the company it came from. I don't really know what to order so any suggestions? The one my ekkie is in is kind of a pewter gray & powdered coated (I do know that much). Thanks in advance. Can you see me doing a little happy dance??? I can't wait to get this little babe home. Don't know the sex yet but the breeder is going to get DNA tested for me.

Hi Linda.. Thanks for the encouraging words w/ a re-home. When i got Roscoe, he had been isolated in a spare bedroom for 2 yrs. before that been harrassed by 3 cats, 4 dogs & an 8 yr. old taunting him. The 1st few months were a challenge (w/ many chomps) but after countless hrs. sitting, talking by his cage; he's already more than i ever dreamed. He arrived just 3 months before my beloved Bozo (Tiel) died. Go to my profile, album & click on pic for his story.
I'm in the very northern IN, by MI line.. Super big CONGRATS on your new baby... I would love to have one but my hands are full. Please keep me posted on your visits & get some pictures !!!

Hi Gwen, I live in Southern Indiana. Are you south also? I am getting a baby grey. I went to see it today (for the second time). I cannot wait to bring it home with me. I am sooooo excited. Don't know the sex yet but don't matter to me. Congrats on making progress with Roscoe. I have an eclectus that is 1 yr old & she won't let me pet her but I keep trying everyday. You will like this list. I just lurk but will write when I get my baby home, maybe 4 more weeks or so. Linda

Please share with me, what state did your baby come from? I would like to avoid that breeder. Also, was your baby shipped or did you pick it up? I just wondered if they ship well.....does anyone know? I bought an eclectus from Texas & she was shipped to Indiana. She is so skiddish, I can not touch her only the last 2 weeks I have been able to very gently stroke her foor/ankle. I just love her but she sure is scared. I paid extra for a "hand fed & well handled" baby but I don't think she was handled much.

How old is he now? I can't wait. I think about it often & anticipate the day I get it home. I have to buy a cage this week. Have been looking on the net for one. I hope to make some friends on here so I can share & learn.

She is beautiful! I have purchased a baby (is 50 days old today). I am going to see it for the second time next week. I can't wait. How old is your girl?

What size cage is recommended? Would 32x23x65 be big enough? thanks in advance.

Congrats on your little girl!! What other birds do you have? I went to a breeder yesterday to buy a grey. Hope it is a girl too. I have to buy a cage & get ready for her. She is only 18 days old so it will be a while before I get to bring her home.

I got my little Timneh boy as a baby. He was 4 months old when I got him. He has been a total sweetheart to me. He gave me two minor bites after I left him for two weeks while I went on vacation. (I just got home last Saturday.) Tonight he was his usual snuggly self with me. He still acts like a monster with my husband. I will say that they are very smart and will pick up on the fears of those approaching them. If you are afraid you are going to be bitten, it's more likely that you will. That's been my experience with all of my birds.
