  1. I live in the USA now, but i would guess that most of the big DIY stores would have the plastic chain. I get Bamboo cane from garden centers, you might have to poke or drill through the bits in the middle where its not hollow.
  2. Feeding dish should be easy a bolt on stainless steel one like this http://www.windycityparrot.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=30401261004&Category_Code=accdishes&Product_Count=2 could be fasterned to one of the perches. I would guess that the 18mm sisal would be strong enough for him but I think he will still chew through it. I really like the design of that but I would probably use chain to hang it and then rope for the nets and play areas etc. I would make the rope parts in sections so that they would be easily replaceable. I would maybe slide bamboo on some of the rope parts especially the upright ropes. My guys take longer to chew through bamboo. It looks a fun project post pics when its finished!
  3. The must haves for my Greys have always been long enough for a boing to swing on, and to have feeding cups on 2 sides. I personally like to be able to take the top tray off and have more overhead light plus my guys have always liked climbing around on the roof which is harder to do if the top seed tray is on. Its also harder to change out toys. I also like a toy hanging arm on the playtop along with a water dish and a dish I use for foot toys & extra treats. Cages in my house tend to be a project in trasnsition, they look different every week. I like to start with a good quality large cage and tailor it to the birdies needs and wants, and every birdie is different. You cannot buy a cage too big for the birdie, but you can buy one too big for your house, not that I have ever done that or anything lol.
  4. This is one she made me for Christmas, it even looks like Copper, I am hoping that she will do me some of my other birdies too. http://www.etsy.com/listing/63024678/handmade-parrot-christmas-ornament-macaw
  5. I feed both, they get fresh when we eat fresh and frozen when we eat frozen, or when we eat crap without a vegi. Sometimes they even get canned! I also feed them a mash made mostly from fruit and vegi pulp from a friend who juices organic veg, it freezes well and I break off peices that they get semi defrosted like a sorbet.
  6. No Copper was raised by his mom and dad until he was 6 weeks then was hand raised by his breeder until he was weaned. But i do have pics of him from day 1, but only 1 of him in his shell.
  7. What a beautiful girl, We looked at getting a Greenwing and I would of called mine River.
  8. He is also very very sweet, he loves to give kisses and will kiss anyone who asks. Hes also a big boy 35 inches from head to tail at 7 months. Heres his Mom and Dad, they are Bolivian B&Gs
  9. You should be careful what you ask for i have a LOT of pics of Copper This one shows all of him
  10. I have had all sorts of older 'second hand' birds and yes they take time to trust you but they can end up very loving. In fact my only baby ever is Copper my B&G. The first thing i do is get them a new cage, this actually does put them off of their pace a little but it also means that they do not proctect the cage so much. if you have time and patience i say go for it, even if he stays cage bound its got to be nicer to be in a home with good food and a normal every day life than being in a store with people poking at him a million times a day.
