Eastern Australian Rosella for sale

Coral and Andrew, I was JUST about to post, I have found a WONDERFUL home for Tubok, a fella named Bob who lives in my general area has adpoted Tubok and I am very confident that he'll be giving him an AWESOME new life-long home!! The amazing thing is, my breeder pair has been in mating cycle for a while now, but the male just simply would NOT mate the female, no matter how much she wanted too. TODAY, they mate. =) I caught them purely by accident, but was so excited that I hid around the corner as not to disrupt them! Thank you for the compliment on Tubok's coloring, but, I'm afraid I can't take credit for that, all Easterns are just as gorgeous as the next. =) -
Wanted - Baby Congo African Grey by October

I wished I could give you some help on breeders in your area, however, I'm in Florida so can't. I, too, was kinda forced to take my baby before being weaned, I was a nervous wreck about it, even though I HAVE hand fed in the past. However, I am really loving doing it now, I still get a little nervous, only because I know his immunities aren't quite up to par yet, and so many things COULD happen to him. If you're going to take an unweaned baby, I would highly recommend you have an Avian Experted Vet on speed dial and the option to call your breeder anytime day or night for ANY questions you might have. That being said, I hope someone is able to help you find a local breeder in your area and congrats on your decision to be a parront!!! -
What an awesome idea, Chelsea! I Love it, can't wait to see what you're adding to it.

LOL!! I TOTALLY understand, I've only had Maui for a couple of weeks and already I'm wicked attached to him, he is MY baby, so I can only imagine how you feel about Isaac. I really hope Maui stays as affectionate as he is now, but, like you said, I'm not expecting anything, therefore, I can't be disappointed. Maui does enjoy a little bit of "down time", where he is in his brooder in my bedroom away from all noise and commotion for a little rejuvenation and some really sound sleep. I'm gonna go cop a gander at the video you're sharing! THANKS WHAT AN AWESOME VIDEO!!!! A GREAT TRIBUTE TO ISAAC BEING SUCH A SWEET BIRD AND YOUR BBFF (BIRDIE BEST FRIEND FOREVER) THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!

Hi Judygram, You know, I've heard that a couple of times, so, I bought him one today, nothing huge, just a small little fuzzy and soft stuffed animal that he can kinda snuggle up to in his brooder or cage when I'm not around. He actually snuggled up to it today while I was out and about, I came home and he was asleep in his brooder, but with his head kinda snuggled in between the animals arm and belly. =) CUTE!

Aww, He is BEAUTIFUL!!! Do you still get cuddles from him? Or not so much anymore, which seems to be what everyone is telling me about Maui, that it's ALLLL snuggles now, but apparently it doesn't last. =( So I take as much of his snuggles as he'll give me right now, which is tons! LOL, I bet you do have tons of photo's of him, he's something to be proud of, he's a very handsome boy! Thank you for sharing the photos with me, I love to see everyones babies and I sure hope my lil guy gets to be 1/2 as pretty as the one's I've seen here on this forum! "Not sure if you plan to leave your baby flighted..." YES!!! Absolutely, I know everyone has their own views, but, I don't clip wings, he will get to take flight as soon as he's ready and I can't wait to cheer him on during his first leap of faith!!

Elvenking & GoDiego, THANK YOU!!! He is the sunshine of my life, well of OUR lives, I should say. My husband was never really a "bird person" until Maui came into our lives. Now, he's a NUT CASE over him. He refers to him as "the baby" and is so protective over him, it's cute I guess we're both a little "bird crazy" over him. It's just so amazing how quickly they learn and grow, isn't it? How old is Isaac? How old is Diego? Did you get him before he was weaned? It's quite nerve racking to me, because of all the horror stories I've heard about getting them so young, but, I started visiting Maui when he was only 2 weeks old, I didn't plan to take him until he was 12 weeks old, but the breeder wanted to go on vacation and didn't want to take him with her, so basically TOLD me to either take him NOW and I mean TODAY or I have another buyer who will. UHHH!!! I was not too happy, however, in my mind, the bird was mine already and I was NOT about to give him up to some OTHER person to finish weaning him, I've had hand feeding experience, but never with a grey and it's been quite a few years since I've hand fed babies. We're doing GREAT with him and he seems to be thriving quite nicely, but, the worries never seem to seize. I'm such a nut that I actually wake up 2-3 times in the middle of the night, just to be sure he's breathing!!! LOL. Do you guys have photo's of your Isaac and Diego on here some where? I'd love to see him. My Shepherd is a gentle giant, unless there's a reason not to be (intruders, etc...) The bird gets a kick out of the Dog and of course the dog thinks that Maui is his baby to protect and take care of. He is so gentle and loving. it's adorable!

Aww, Thank you Chelsea, He didn't seem all too healthy when I first got him, mostly because he had so little feathers and was so little, but, when I took him to the Vet, the Doc said, he's perfectly healthy and as a matter of fact was a little on the heavier size for his age, but, that could just mean he'll be a bit larger bird when fully grown. I've looked at tons of photo's of birds his age, he seems to be quite comparable in size and feathering, at least as much as I can tell from photo's. He weighs 440 grams right now, does that seem big for 6 weeks? Everything I've read, that seems to be pretty normal. He's such a sweet, sweet little bird, I just can't get enough of him!
-
Thats a GREAT idea and I had thought of that myself when looking at his photos from last week till now in comparison. Too bad I didn't take any photo's of him while I was visiting him from 2 weeks on at the breeders house. But, I do have them from 5 weeks, so will just start from there. I just looked at the difference between last week and this week, CRAZY how much he's grown even, let alone how much more feathering he's gotten!!

Happy Bird Day, Dave!!! And manyyyyy moreeeee!

LOL!!! Yeah, I mean, I've got other birds, but, I've never been anywhere NEAR the freak about them as I am this baby grey. I guess I just forget that he's a bird sometimes and treat him like a human baby and am so worried about his "feelings". I do want to make sure that he's well adjusted though, I don't want to create a feather plucker or anything, so, I will defintely take heed to all of the suggestions all of you are giving me. One thing I've been wondering about, he HATES to be carried around, he feels so insecure when anyone picks him up, he doesn't mind sitting on my lap or cuddling up under my chin, but when I have to pick him up for ANY reason, he despises it. I wonder if there's a better way for me to do it where he'll feel more secure, because he doesn't perch yet. Do you guys have any suggestions and do you think he's too young to teach him how to perch? I mean, he JUST did learn to be more sure footed and not fall down when he stretches his wings and feet and such, so I'm not sure when is a good time to start encouraging perching. He does have a perch in his cage really low that he's been trying to get on. He gets one foot up and kinda bounces a bit trying to get the other foot up, even drops his wing for leverage as he beaks the perch and hops, but he hasn't been quite able to get that other foot up yet. Although, it's so cute to see him try, he's so determined at such a young age!! I mean, the little guy is ONLY 6 weeks old. LOL

hee hee, YES, I do get separation anxiety, while I'm out and about, I rarely enjoy the outting because all I can think about while I'm gone is how I REALLY just need to get back to the baby, it's almost time for his feeding, what if he's pooped all over his brooder or cage.. blah blah blah... My 2 teenage girls think their Mum has gone a bit crazy over the bird, maybe I have, but I'm trying to be a good care taker. Thanks Azzie!!

Thanks Azzie, I've been really thinking a lot about this and I happen to agree that Maui should really start to learn how to entertain himself as well as be entertained by me and the rest of his flock mates in the home. I don't like to leave him, more because I have this constant fear of him dying while I'm gone because of all the horror stories I've read lately. But, he seems to be very healthy and progressing nicely for his age compared to what I've read about what they should be learning and by what age. But, you just NEVER know, since they aren't very good about letting their humans know they aren't feeling well, if they aren't, anything could happen. I'm sure he's fine, the vet says he's fine and he's had a full blood panel done to check for any illnesses as well as to make sure he's getting what he needs nutritionally. I think leaving him for periods of time isn't a bad idea, even if he does get a little miffed, I don't want to have an issue later on in his life where we can't go anywhere without being worried he'll be ticked at us. LOL

Aww! What an awesome group of babies! I know exactly what you mean by sharing the home and cleaning up after them. I am currently sharing a home with a 100 lb 5 yr old German Shepherd, Logan, 3 Cats, Sunny, Ozzie, Squeakers, and of course the birds, 3 Eastern Rosellas, Samson, Delila, Tubok, 18 Gouldian Finches, (too many to name) 2 lovebirds Fred and Wilma, 2 Cockatiels Tweety and baby bird (kids named them), 2 Zebra finches mork and mindy and the newest member and love of my life, my CAG Maui!
