  1. i'm having trouble posting the pictures i took i'm not real good on a computer my email is rick.owens1@verizon.net if you can email me i can send them thru there and when he pulls the feathers out they seem like they are hard to pull out thanks for any advice you might be able to give
  2. hi this is rick again my 14 month old nemo is really plucking his feathers now as soon as he starts preening he begins just pulling feathers out i've tried hot air humidifiers aloe juice his diet is spot on vet says blood test are normal i haven't changed anything in my house didn't even put up any christmas decorations i'm at my wits end he has uv lighting oh and he is not molting i'm about to give up
  3. i give daily showers but doesn't really seem to get completely soaked so i'm gonna try thr aloe vera juice 2 questions though.How often should i do this? and whats the best way to introduce a spray bottle to him?
  4. well there have been more now and he has lost 16 grams since friday but i am wondering i just put up my christmas tree and covered my big mirror in my living room with a wreath i am going to take them down now to see if anything changes
  5. i have a 13 mo old congo today he was on his play stand and i noticed he was chewing on a tailfeather he must of pulled out should i be worried
  6. i stopped by the guys store last night he does have a cag he claims is 39yrs old and looks farely healthy but the guy himself is just too pushy and a typical salesman i am going to stick with my current diet for nemo but i am interested in looking in to the mayan blend which one would you recommend? and also an added note my sisters neighbor has a 2yr old cag and was raised on abba seed and has been plucking her feathers might not be directly from diet but scared me enough to stay away from it thanks for the advise
  7. i currently feed my 1 yr old cag a diet consiting of roudybush pellets and a mixture of fresh fruits and veggies daily he is very healthy looking and acting my avian vet says he looks great a local bird breeder i just met claims that abba bird feed is a better healthier food for him i looked at it and seems to be mostly seeds which i thought was not a good diet at all does anyone have any suggestions
  8. i posted last month about nemo not talking yet at 11 months old he turned 1 year old on the 10th of november he started saying hello today and is trying to say good boy i'm so happy i really wanted him to talk thanks for all the encouraging words
  9. thanks for all the imput i will keep trying and as far as leaving the room that might be the problem cause if i'm home he is with me no matter what i am doing i have always had dogs as pets but it was to hard losing them i wanted a pet that would be with me longer and i have really got attached to this little guy it is a bit of a switch going from 160 lb rottweilers to a 405gram parrot but i do have him trained well he is potty trained gets a shower fine and lets me clip his nails even comes to me when i call him if he is at the back or top of his play gyms
  10. i have had nemo since he was 3 months old i live alone with him and talk to him constantly he is now 11 months old and still nothing but cherping and whistling is there anything else i should try or just figure he won't be a talker which is ok but i have always wanted a parrot that can talk so i got a male congo african grey figured it was my best bet he is a sweet and wonderful bird and nothing could seperate us now i just would love to hear him talk
  11. thats great i hope nemo my 10 month old(cag) talks soon i really work with him but nothing yet
