  1. Thanks! I will try those ideas!
  2. .... but Marley does not eat his fruits and veggies. The breeder said he does and I saw in his cage that they did have fruits and veggies available to him. I have tried bowls full of options, reduced options, one thing over another, and I just can't figure it out. He doesn't even eat his monkey bread. All he will eat is his seed. I've even tried not offering that and only offering the fruits and veggies. His second day home with me he ate them but now he won't. Any ideas? I'm stumped... Heather & Marley
  3. Oh my what a sad lil situation! But at least it has a good ending! Good luck!!
  4. I'll construct a playstand for the living room I guess I was comparing him to my 'Tiel who prefers to have constant access to his cage entrance. He likes to loop in and out at his lil birdie conveniance! Wasn't sure if Marley would prefer that also. The CPVC is the non-toxic kind, correct?
  5. Hi everyone, I need advice on where to place baby Marley's cage. He seems to be doing just fine with activity/noise level of our home so I have been considering moving his cage. In the birdie room he has a front facing window so he can see the street and watch all the cars and people go by but its on the other side of the house and he would have less people interaction. In the living room, he has the sliding glass door that faces the back yard that he can look at from his cage but sadly there is very little to look at since we just moved in ourselves 2 weeks ago. We have yet to get the trees planted and wild bird feeders out. But by being in the living room he gets to interact with us more. My main concern is the hours when we're at work - the future hubby and I work the same shift and I don't want him to get bored with nothing to look at. He does have toys in his cage that he loves. I could move the cage back and forth but there is major furniture to navigate around. Any suggestions? Thanks! Heather & Marley
  6. Working 12+ hour days over there with very little 'normal' entertainment, we would find lots of stuff to do! Although I hope ours never make it to YouTube!! LOL It's always good to let off steam - war zone or not!
  7. I go there and click but I also buy tons of stuff from their shops and get lots of compliments on clothes, jewelry, and the home decorations I buy there! What a great site! Nothing is better than a fantastic shopping experience and helping out animals/people in need!
  8. Anytime Judy - who can ever get tired of looking at these guys anyway? And I will keep her advice in mind. It's a good thing to always remember.
  9. Thanks Jooles, I will keep that in mind - good advice! Judy, yes I did but I will again
  10. He took a few naps sitting with me yesterday but he started the eyebrow thing this morning. It doesn't bother me, I think it's adorable - I was just curious if it was normal behavior. My cockatiel does it too but he likes to put his head under my chin and sleeps that way. My 'Tiel's favorite time is his nap time with Mom I was pretty worried about the adjustment. I was curious as to how he was going to handle it. But this morning I heard him chirping in his cage and I went to his room to take him out and he was just so excited to see me. He started singing and chirping nonstop and to him I just couldn't get that door open fast enough. I have to go take my foster dogs to the adoption fair at one of the local pet stores - I hope they find "furrever" homes. And maybe I'll take the opportunity to do a lil more toy shopping for all the kids.... since ya know, I'll be up there any and I guess I might as well Sooo many babies to spoil
  11. 1st night with Marley went smoothly! He has already learned how to hold my hand (step up) and he loves to bathe! He didn't eat anything yesterday but enthusiastically demolished his fruits and veggies this morning. The breeder said he had difficulty navigating their cage but he doesn't seem to have any issues with mine. He likes YouTube videos of other Greys and keeps trying to mimic them... Even my 'Tiel has been more vocal since yesterday - making lots of cooing noises. The only 'odd' thing that Marley does is when he sits on my chest he puts his beak against the end of my eyebrow and just sits there. I think he is trying to go to sleep but since he is at the end of my eye I can't see if his eyes are closed or not. Any input? Heather & Marley
  12. I agree with Judy - That's how I got Marley and Frankies' names! Something triggered it and the names just clicked! Good luck!!
  13. [/img] They may come out huge... I'll need to work on my tech skills LOL
  14. Sure did my 'Tiel is never left alone with them so I surely wouldn't leave Marley alone with them... so now on to figuring out this uploading a picture predicament I'm in LOL
  15. Marley is home! Pictures will be up soon!!
