I found out the DNA sex test results today for my Congo African Grey Charlie--"he" is really a SHE! My Charlie is a GIRL! Charlie`s breeder told his first owner that Charlie was a boy and so we thought the same thing when we bought him last December. Even our vet said that, for some reason, she thought Charlie would turn out to be a boy. Nope! Now I`ll have to update Charlie`s webpage when I get home from work!
If you could`nt afford to pay for a bird up front, how are you knowingly going to pay the superficially continuing costs of vet care, food, toys, a cage, etc? What cost the most with any pet isn`t the initial price but the cost of "upkep" throughout the animals lifetime.

That`s a good question. The CAG I bought back in December was/is named Charlie & it`s too late to change his name. My Blue Headed Pionus (who talks up a storm) is awlays saying, "Good Charlie" and "What ya doing Charlie?" and sometimes just "Charlie". Charlie has yet to oddly respond.
