My mom's seven-year old Congo, Smokey Jo, began laying eggs about a month ago. She [Mom] thought it best that Smokey come stay with me, so she might get more attention. She layed three more eggs, but seems to have stopped. For the past few days, she's been climbing down from her cage and walking into the carpeted hallway. Smokey puts her beak to the floor and scratches around like a chicken. I've heard of younger Greys doing such things, but I thought they were supposed to grow out of it. I've thought maybe it's just stress, but I don't have much experience with bigger birds. Any ideas???

A quick question. Mac really does not like having his claws trimmed, and I must admit I am not comfortable doing them. Is there a reccomended style of perch that can accomplish the same thing? I am reluctant to try the sand paper type covers as I don`t like the thought of him chewing on them. Thanks all Adreeanna
