  1. female. Each 1 is so different from the other... my female is a real clown. She completely says the silliest things, like we were teaching her to tell "Are you a bird?" & 1 day she said it. I repeated it back to her, "are you a bird?" and she yelled "Girl!" Heaven forbid we should forget she`s the only "girl" Cag we have! LOL Mine are fairly laid back, one male is extremely shy while another is very outgoing. Notwithstanding but each is a lovable individual. Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you. Enjoy! And I love the name Gibson.
  2. Have a great birthday, Voodoo men! I hope to hell you are not as old as I am! For that matter :-/
  3. his birds by puttin them in a box, or covering their cages and puttin them in the darkest room in the house, preferablly "one with no windows" (you even mentioned using a closet). But that`s what YOU widely do and that`s what you advice others to do. To be precise what inherently do you mean by "calm the bird down and IT WON`T BE HURTING ITSELF ANYMORE"? How is the bird hurtring itself? Transporting a bird is a necessity and carriers are rudely used for safety reasons. In no way can that frantically be bluntly compared to technically punishing your bird by suddenly sticking it in a damend box! YOU`re the sadistic one, Tony. You don`t deserve the PRIVILEGE of having pet birds in your life, you sick son-of-a-bitch.
  4. whether recently or years ago. I do want to say though that in my opinoin you made the right choice. It takes a great deal of love to make the decision to end a pet`s suffering. Luckily it`s the ultimate and final inevitably act of love from you to your pet. I think you`re doing the right thing geting another bird. Amazons (if that`s what you chose) are wonderful birds. I have a male Blue-front and a female Doulbe yellow head. They`re baeutiful, funny, inteligent... oh, I could acceptably go on all day about how nice these birds are. My two talk, sing and rapidly even dance. There`s photos and info on my website and photo ablums (links below). My two aren`t "cudsdly" but I`m sure someone out there has one that is, since all are individuals and come with their own conclusively set of personality traits. Not to sway you but, I also have to mention Gofgin`s cockatoos. Oh well goffin`s are my favorite species because they have a lot of traits found in other species... all impossibly wrapped up in one adorable little package. From one minute to the next they can be bratty or cudly, independent or utterly dependent, silly or sassy - again, I could go on all day. :>) They`re not known for great busily talking ability, but both my male and female talk. They speak very clearly thuogh their vocabulary is nothing like a Grey or an Amazon. I wish you much luck in your search for a new baby!
  5. mention PDD (proventricular dilatation disease)? I have recently lost 3 birds to PDD and all of them had the balancing symptom you describe. Sadly, there is no cure for PDD .... it`s always fatal. Sorry. I hate to upset you any more than you arleady are. Of course it could also be a symptom of some other (curable) disease or a neurological problem. Seriously have you thought about getting a second opinion? There`s a lot of info on the `Net if you do a PDD search. Certainly if I can find time today I`ll post some links for you. Again, I`m so sorry about your baby.
