Well Maybe my post was a little to intense for some AFTERALL THIS IS THE BITE ME CLUB! I am sorry for that BUT as grey Attendtants we know how hard and painfull some bites get DONT WE, LOL I was putting my other grey Back in his cage, And he didnt like the fact that i was giving mrs Kenya all my attension. He didnt want to go into his cage last, He wanted to be first! He made his point very well noted by grabing my finger and crushing my finger nail. that ouch hurt for a month! Hello Folks I am new here But Not new to African greys or posting on Email groups Hello My Name is Dimigrey (Dimitri) I live in Vermont with my 2 African greys Zippo and Kenya Maybe some of you know me from some of the Yahoo groups i belong too I just found this Web site And i am glad i did. I am a Paramedic in Real live. And i love my 2 greys Zippo is Now 12 and Kenya Female is 11 Zippo has been with me since about 6 weeks and I rescured Kenya at 2 years old From Nashville Tenn (know she does not sing Country and western or Elvis. Hello friends, Some of You folks mite remember my Kenya from the Yahoo news groups Anyway my little girl has really Bad dry Cracking Red Hocks and there is alot of Scale on them as well. Kenya has been to several vets about this problem. Nobody can really come up with a difenitive answer on this. I inquired about this being the possabity of Bumble foot, But I was reasured serveral times that it is not. Eventhough it closly resambles it. Kenya even had blood work to rule out gout or liver. I have done all the perch sugestions. Soft perch, Leather perch, Cotton Perch. Heated perch. Diferent sizes. ETC. Nothing has really resulted in these sores being Healed. There are Dry luckly than havent broke through the Demis part Just very strange looking scales on the bottom of her Hocks. SO my last guess is Diet.. Maybe adding something That is missing. Kenya is on Harrisons Bird Diet. High Pot and Lifetime. This is about 95% of Her diet. within the last few days I have added Sunshine factor(RED Paum oil) and some more Dark leafy Greens kale to help this not sure if this will work or not. All sugestions will be Welcomed thanks Dimigrey
