1. So funny some of these replies thanks Samsdad! I am completely reassured that Dex is ok and all is normal! Love the time out thing I do it to, then feel bad and go right back into his room and fetch him only to have him bite me for giving him a time out! LOL!
2. This is Dex & me (Tracey).

Post edited by: Tracey, at: 2009/10/29 10:13
3. You know Eco its been overcast and raining this whole week, maybe it is the weather! I suppose like us they have their moods Judy, just a bit weird, one day you think you have the sweetest grey & the next day they are showing you a lesson or two about who's the boss! LOL! But he's my one & only & I'll keep doing as he squawk’s.
4. LOL! I did the same thing. Then I felt bad and went to fetch him, only to have him bite me a screech etc... Peculiar things aren't they! Still love him to bits Thanks for the reassurance that all is OK Jooles :cheer:
5. Yesterday my grey seemed off? Do they get moods? He was screeching and squawking until I picked him up. He would put his head down for a scratch, but when I started scratching his head he would bite me and this went on the hole day. I've noticed today he is being the same? Even sitting on my shoulder he is screeching and squawking!!! Help!!! I haven't done anything different, so I'm not to sure whats up! He is still a baby 5 1/2 months. What's going on, he used to be so cute...

Post edited by: Tracey, at: 2009/10/28 09:10
6. LOL! Such funny comments! Was definitely not thinking of overdoing it with Dex he gets WAY to excited while eating them and doesn't know when to stop, so I have to limit him to two! Glad to know they are ok, but all things in moderation LOL! Thanks guys & gals for all the info great news!
7. LOL! Judygram! Next time I will definitely wipe that beak off
8. Thanks Jillybeanz! That info really helps! Now I must just learn to keep Dex off me when he eats them, cos my nose starts watering as does my eyes and he has this habit of cleaning his beak on my shoulder or face! Kinda spicy when its chillie juice
9. Ah sorry for late reply Jillybeans. Am still trying with Dex, but he doesn't do the "stay" thingie well, I have to stand so close to his play stand and almost push him till he has to get onto the play stand and that how I get him off me! I put him on my hand so that its easier to place him on the play stand, but he just runs (I mean runs... super fast) up my arm till he is on my shoulder, then he is in charge again, cos its almost impossible to get him off me and no one else can get him off me cos he bites. He is slowly learning that my husband is not a threat and will go to him if its to take him off the cage in his room and Dex knows he will come to the living room where we all are. When Dex is on my knee he will also get off me and walk along the couch to my husband if he has something interesting in his hand, like a remote control or cell phone, but he still wont go to my son and if I put him on my sons shoulder he bites my sons ear (Dex is not to happy about that one?). Will keep trying though! But have more battles on my hands with trying to get Dex to bath grrrrr! He doesn't like this thing we call bathing or showering

Post edited by: Tracey, at: 2009/10/26 12:18
10. I was wondering if its true that its ok to feed you CAG chillies? My mom bought my CAG "Dex" a bag of green chillies and said they love chillies. I gave Dex one and he totally loved it. But I have read that whats good for humans is good for CAG's. If we eat to many chillies thats bad for us, is it bad the for the grey's too???

Post edited by: Tracey, at: 2009/10/26 12:21
11. Hey I have a 5 month CAG and he is very clingy! I seem to have the same problem with Dex that Raphael is having. Dex will bite my husband and son and wont go to neither of them, but quite happily comes to me and wont leave my shoulder. I would love it if Dex would socialise with my family as they try and are quite patient with him, but he wont budge... Please help
12. My grey is just not liking the bathing thing either. Dex is 5 months and I've tried the squit bottle, I've tried putting a bit of water in the tub, I've tried placing a container with water in it outside in the sun and also tried the shower, but he Squawks and Panics and flys as much as he's clipped wings allows. He sulks for a while then he is ok... But he really just wont take to bathing on his own. The closest he gets to water is drinking it! I know how important it is for Dex to bath, but I'm scared I'm traumatizing him! What can I do besides placing him in a cage and squiting him regardless???
