  1. Yes it is. The previous owner said she only talks when she wants to. So maybe she will talk more.
  2. As some of you may have read, approx 1 1/2 weeks ago I adopted Bailey a 9 yo Congo African grey. Her previous owner told me she talks, but I never heard her. Well after a week she talks to my female roomate ( the previous owner was female, and told me that Bailey liked females better.) well yesturday I was getting ready for work and I heard talking coming from the living room area which is where I keep Bailey. I walk in and she is looking at my dog saying " wanna play?". Then today she has said that and mumbled some other stuff. I guess she is finally getting used to me.
  3. I appreciate it. I loved the visa of Emma. I can't wait until Bailey will talk to me, just take time for her to get used to me. She used to talk a lot now just some. Her last owner had a lot of stuff come up. Which is when I adopted her. I think after she sees that I will spend plenty of time with her and give her attention, that maybe she will open up and talk more.
  4. Lol, I appreciate everything. I just was not sure because of the time. If I tried it in 20 mins I would have a stroke or something. I am glad to hear that it is normal.
  5. My new african grey Bailey likes to hang upside down. Earlier tonight she hung upside down for about 20 mins. Is this normal? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
  6. Well, no bad habits that I am aware of, jus had plucked some feathers a few weeks before I got her, but we think it was from boredom or loneliness as her previous owner had moved 4 times in the last few months, and been working many hours. But now she doesn't seem to be plucking anymore, and is in a home that will giver her plenty of attention.
  7. I appreciate it everyone. I think she will open up good soon as she gets used to the new environment. I will update with how she acts.
  8. Yes I was lucky Bailey and her cage fell in front of me. I am glad I got her, she is pretty, and loves to eat from my hand, she will not step up yet, but It will take time. I bet you will have a lot of fun with your new baby.
