  1. I really do not know how old my Smokie was when he passed , But he used to tell my mum when I was awake or crying as a baby(no intercoms baby monitors in them thar days lol)Smokie used to sit on my cot when I was a baby over 53 years ago! he was my mothers Pal and prior to that he had been my grandmothers Pal ! I think he was about 5 months old when my grandfather brought him to the UK when he came home on leave he gave Smokie to my Grandmother as an engage ment present in 1929!!
  2. Peppers are one of the best at stopping ants put a whole pepper with a slight nick in it next to where the ants come out and the smell puts them off! Also it does not harm any Parrots as they eat them!
  3. yes it is normal ! I am not going to spam you but there are many folk out in Parrot world who can and will give advice re your birds , I swear by "Chet Womack" I will not put up a link unless asked as I do not have it on my laptop its on my PC

  5. hi I dont know if you have heard of Chet Womack,he gives free advice on the net re training taming and what to look for if you think your bird is ill well worthlooking at
  6. greys only talk if they want to,when I first had my Smokie she would not talk;but one day I was in the kitchen heard some sounds and there was Smokie talking away to Rudy my Roseala(hello and the like)Smokie and Rudy were friends from the outset,Rudy misses Smokie as much as I do.Sorry I went off subject but you grey will talk but only when he/she is ready
  7. I have seen this on Timnehs also on cockatiels,it is normal according to my Avian vet(if you are worried at all take your parrot to an AVIAN vet more expensive but loads better).I had a Timneh called Smokie who died on Christmas eve,she was a rescue bird I had her a few years but sadly even after the vet looked at her she passed away;I really do miss her,as She was not only my friend but also my companion, please if you notice anything at all that worries you with your bird get it checked out
  8. Hi my African Grey Smokie used to come everywhere with me,that is until Christmas eve daytime;I had to take her to the vets (25miles away)as she did not seem right;anyway She passed away(old age and a fit) I really miss her little antics. Smokie had a cage at my mothers 125 miles from Brighton where I live, she was a regular sight here she never had her wings clipped very rarely used her cage(that was how I knew she was ill I miss her
