  1. I dont know if this will work. I downloaded it hopefully it works right when i hit reply. Here is her pic. She's bald but beautiful.
  2. I will keep her seperated for a long while. She is staying in my office where i am all day. She is getting soooooo attached to my husdband though and that is so great. Our Timneh is bonded with me and tolerates him. I am sooo excited that he will probably end up with her bonded to him. They sat together watching tv tonight for 3 hours together while he scratched her head. It was sooo adorable. I am waiting for a response from her previos owner to find out what she was eating. I went out today and bought a bunch of toys and different foods and perches and stuff for her. I needed the perches in her cage right away but the toys i played with on the floor in front of her so when i put them in she seemed real good with it. She started playing with them almost emediatly. She definatly seems like an all around good bird. Just a feather plucker. I will try to get the pics for you to see. I can say she has some feather shafts but i dont think she has as many as she should to cover her chest. So ther prob is some perm loss but hopefully we can get what is left to grow back in. How about vitamins??
  3. Thank you Ranza, I agree with you on copying. But for safty sake to my Timneh I do have Harley in my office for now till I have her checked by a vet. She came from a healthy looking home but i can't ignore the fact that she is a plucker so i want to have her checked for mights or lice. She seams really healthy and very friendly other then her plucking. Her previouse owner said that when she got her she was a plucker and that her owner before her said she started plucking after her mate died. I except her baldness and all but i am going to try to figugure out why she is. Maybe I can get her over it. If for notheing else just so i know she's healthy. I am going to the pet store in a little while. Is there any bird baths or vitamins that i should get or avoid that might help her?
  4. Hello all. I am not really new to the sight I have had my profile for a while but haven't been on for some time. My Timneh is doing great we love her so much. I have to say she is the perfect bird. She's friendly, healthy, she dont' scream.......and healthy as can be. But the other reason i came back on is to get some help with my new grey. Today we brought home a wonderfull congo named Harley. She is such a happy little girl and very friendly, But she is a plucker. poor thing is completly bauld on her chest and belly. How can i tell if her feathers will grow back (if we can figure out why she plucks) or if they are forever gone?
  5. We have decided to take him. I talked to my sister in law about it. She is still considering weather or not she wants to part with her friend. If she keeps him there then thats great if i take him then thats great as well. As long as the guy is in a good home. They do take very good care of him he just is pretty mean to them right now. Probably jelouse.
  6. Thats what i was thinking. So i would make sure to give Jessie(my bird) attention first, food, treats,etc.. then give them to Leo(my brothers bird). How do i respond if he does bite so as not to encourage him or Jessie to bite? I am worried if Jessie see's him bite she may try to see our reaction. That learning porrot thing that we all no so well. lol.
  7. My brother has a tag and so do we. My grey is very friendly and likes to play and comunicate. My brothers however is not so friendly and tries to bite him alot. He did very well with my sister in law and played with her but she had a baby and now the bird has gotten mean with her as well. (jealouse) They asked me and my husdband if we wanted him. I don't know if we should. I would love to take him and work with him and see if we could turn the poor guy around but i am worried about the relationship with my bird. Will it be in his and her favor or will it work against us to have them both.
  8. Hello everyone. I was on once before hoping to get my baby congo but things fell through when the breader never showed up with the babies. But things worked out and today my husdband put the surprise deposit on a baby timneh. He/she is only 9 weeks old and I get to assist in the rest of it's care till he/she is ready to coma home. I am soooooo excited to be having the pleasure of a grey back in my life again. I can't wait to talk to yo all about him/her.:woohoo:
  9. No problem at all. I had a family emergency that was unavoidable. I had to take my kids and move to texas by greyhound bus. Greyhound don't allow pets and i didnt have the money to fly her. A family friend took her for me. It was 3 yrs before i was able to come home again and she has gotten very attached to her new dad. I don't have the heart to break them up. I miss her so much. But i really had no choice.
  10. I am looking for my new best friend. I was waiting for a baby cag from my lps but his breeder never delivered the baby's. He just got in 2 tag and i was wondering if anyone can tell me thier opinions on the 2 birds. I had a congo before and she was a wonderfull bird so thats why i was going to get another. But i have been told that the tim's are more relaxed. I didn't have a problem with my congo but was i just lucky? Does anyone have experience with both birds and can give me advise. Should i hold out for the congo or put a dep on the tim? By the way I trust the pet store very much I have seen his care of the birds first hand for a long time and he is wonderfull and very responsable.
  11. obviously i am new to the forum or i wouldn't be posting in the welcome thread. I don't have my grey yet but I am currently looking for a good breeder who has one available. I was hopeing maybe someone on here could help me. I am nervouse about buying one from a pet shop as I don't know the birds upbringing. So if anyone know of a good breeder in upstate ny or surounding area please let me know. Thank you and look forward to chatting.
