1. She's so pretty and posing like a good 'un! Happy belated Hatchday Rikki xx
2. The Rocking Song Little Jesus, sweetly sleep, do not stir; We will lend a coat of fur, We will rock you, rock you, rock you, We will rock you, rock you, rock you: Fur is no longer appropriate wear for small infants, both due to risk of allergy to animal fur, and for ethical reasons. Therefore faux fur, a nice cellular blanket or perhaps micro-fleece material should be considered a suitable alternative. Please note, only persons who have been subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check and have enhanced clearance will be permitted to rock baby Jesus. Persons must carry their CRB disclosure with them at all times and be prepared to provide three forms of identification before rocking commences. Jingle Bells Dashing through the snow In a one horse open sleigh O'er the fields we go Laughing all the way A risk assessment must be submitted before an open sleigh is considered safe for members of the public to travel on. The risk assessment must also consider whether it is appropriate to use only one horse for such a venture, particularly if passengers are of larger proportions. Please note, permission must be gained from landowners before entering their fields. To avoid offending those not participating in celebrations, we would request that laughter is moderate only and not loud enough to be considered a noise nuisance. While shepherds watched While shepherds watched Their flocks by night All seated on the ground The angel of the Lord came down And glory shone around The union of Shepherd's has complained that it breaches health and safety regulations to insist that shepherds watch their flocks without appropriate seating arrangements being provided, therefore benches, stools and orthopaedic chairs are now available. Shepherds have also requested that due to the inclement weather conditions at this time of year that they should watch their flocks via cctv cameras from centrally heated shepherd observation huts. Please note, the angel of the lord is reminded that before shining his / her glory all around she / he must ascertain that all shepherds have been issued with glasses capable of filtering out the harmful effects of UVA, UVB and Glory. Little Donkey Little donkey, little donkey on the dusty road Got to keep on plodding onwards with your precious load The RSPCA have issued strict guidelines with regard to how heavy a load that a donkey of small stature is permitted to carry, also included in the guidelines is guidance regarding how often to feed the donkey and how many rest breaks are required over a four hour plodding period. Please note that due to the increased risk of pollution from the dusty road, Mary and Joseph are required to wear face masks to prevent inhalation of any airborne particles. The donkey has expressed his discomfort at being labelled 'little' and would prefer just to be simply referred to as Mr. Donkey. To comment upon his height or lack thereof may be considered an infringement of his equine rights. We Three Kings We three kings of Orient are Bearing gifts we traverse afar Field and fountain, moor and mountain Following yonder star Whilst the gift of gold is still considered acceptable - as it may be redeemed at a later date through such organisations as 'cash for gold' etc, gifts of frankincense and myrrh are not appropriate due to the potential risk of oils and fragrances causing allergic reactions. A suggested gift alternative would be to make a donation to a worthy cause in the recipients name or perhaps give a gift voucher. We would not advise that the traversing kings rely on navigation by stars in order to reach their destinations and suggest the use of RAC routefinder or satellite navigation, which will provide the quickest route and advice regarding fuel consumption. Please note as per the guidelines from the RSPCA for Mr Donkey, the camels carrying the three kings of Orient will require regular food and rest breaks. Facemasks for the three kings are also advisable due to the likelihood of dust from the camels hooves. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows. You are advised that under the Equal Opportunities for All policy, it is inappropriate for persons to make comment with regard to the reddiness of any part of Mr. R.. Reindeer. Further to this, exclusion of Mr R Reindeer from the Reindeer Games will be considered discriminatory and disciplinary action will be taken against those found guilty of this offence. A full investigation will be implemented and sanctions - including suspension on full pay - will be considered whilst this investigation takes place.

Post edited by: JillyBeanz, at: 2009/12/17 16:02
3. That's great news! I can't wait to see if Harvey talks properly - he says hello when he feels like it - when he thinks nobody is looking!! How exciting - you'll have to watch your Ps and Qs!!
4. Ha Ha - Harvey has managed to survive living in such squalor - bless him!!! As for you Mr Admin - I have covered Harvey's eyes and ears - I have just replaced a number of the blind slats and he doesn't need your help in motivation for the next assault!!!
5. I love Ana Grey bathtime shots - she shows just what those birdies are missing!!!
6. He will certainly find his way around much better with his wings - they'll also get him out of difficulty should he lose balance etc. I'm looking forward to seeing your solutions - it's a great thing that you are doing - just because something has a disability, doesn't mean it is less valuable or meaningful to the world.
7. Hi DalyTek and Welcome to you and Axl. Obviously everything is so new to Axl - his new home and new surroundings. Just give him a bit of time to settle in - let him adjust to his new abode and the different noises and atmosphere - but continue to talk to him etc. You say he is doing the "pick me up" dance and you have handled him before - just be gentle - he may want you to jump right in be touched right away. There are so many members who have "rescue" greys and other birds in whom they've built a meaningful and loving relationship with - it's worth the work - they are an absolutely fantastic companion. If you have any pictures of Axl - we like those too!!
8. Sorry Jenny - I'm a naff advertiser! It is indeed midlandparrots.com! The 5% is off everything other than the postage. I get a mixture of food, supplements and toys and the 5% is deducted. Once again, sorry for my slip up - karma to you for bearing with me!!
9. Georgie's going to eat Santa!!!! Great pictures - thanks for sharing these x
10. Ah, bless you Jill - see that little number that doesn't read zero - means at least one person thinks you are 7 times more interesting than someone with none!!! I'm not saying it's 7 different people!! You may have just inherited an avid fan  I always ensure my full quota of karma is used up in my allotted time (apart from in this room, MY ROOM, where my sprinkling and a tinkling knows no boundaries)!!
11. Aloe is suggested for human consumption as an aid to digestion - but parrots don't need this supplement. I Introduce Georgie quickly to the spray bottle - I find it best to spray Harvey when he's in his cage (he can't escape)!! Georgie will sharp get used to it and benefit from his little spray sessions.
12. Oh my goodness - what an absolutely talented guy - I enjoyed the song too - thanks Dave - great video.
13. I've just sung "Happy Birthday" to Harvey and he seems totally unimpressed - this isn't anything to do with the fact he doesn't know it's his birthday - just the fact that I'm tone deaf!!!
14. Hi Bea - great that you've finally become a member. Any questions you have - ask away - there are people on here with a wealth of knowledge who are always willing to assist.
15. CuteMandaPanda wrote: Ha Ha! You clearly don't have kids - you will be sick of your life with the projects they come home with!!!! If you do make the pasta necklace, just be sure to remove it before you pop to the shops!
16. Yip - the others are (obviously) bang on - Harvey might eat sweet potato one day until it's coming out of his ears - and the next he'll not touch it! I have the "sunflower seed problem" with him - I just keep reducing the amount and he sharp eats something else!! Don't fret too much x
17. Pat, we all know fine well that the beautiful Chatot will flourish under your love, care and guidance (as your other babies have). I know you find it distressing that he has lost more feathers than you thought, and it is so sad as you say at such a young age - but this is the bonus for him - he has years of you and your love ahead of him - he'll be back in tip top form in no time, of this I am sure
18. How great is she in the shower - it looks like she's a pro and been showering for years - she's soaked!! Nilah is an absolute beauty and looks a bundle of fun. Thanks for sharing these xx
19. It is so lovely when they need you - it makes you happy to be a grey owner. Harvey's never like that - he's flighted and finds his own way - doesn't need me!!! Great story - thank you for sharing xx
20. Hi, and welcome to our family. Ooh, 8 months - that temperamental time - they are just "finding their feet" and "asserting their authority" - but still in that middle zone of still wanting a cuddle! We'd love to see some photos if you have some.
21. judygram wrote: Only if it's a care package containing champagne and truffles! I'll PM you my address right this second!!! :woohoo: PS - Janet - that shot of you above isn't too flattering - what's going on with your left eye!!!
22. I had to read this twice Howardine - the English date system puts you on a six month vacation (returning 1 June 2010)! Have an absolutely super holiday - I echo Janets sentiments - be safe and happy xxx See you back here soon xx
23. I really can't believe I'm about to post this - but it's Harvey's 1st Hatchday!! I lurked around on this forum from about now in 2008 reading all of the information that has kept Harvey healthy and happy, before joining the forum when he came home (I didn't think I'd be welcome without a grey to talk about - how wrong was I - I would have been welcomed with open arms)! I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to his wellbeing (and mine!)as honestly, without this forum he probably wouldn't be as well as he is. I know I'm known as a bit of a joker - but this is a heartfelt thanks to all my friends who have helped make Harvey the happy go lucky, gorgeous addition that he is to our family. Thanks to you all. Jill  (and Harvey)! I hope there are many, many more hatchdays for Harvey.
