Thank you both for ur post.i can say it breaks my heart bc he grew up so fast.now, that im in bed a few weeks due to clots in my lungs and legs .ive not been able to try anything yet. he has been moved to me room with me so I can talk to him.he will say hey mom which melts my heart.theres been some changing in my house. my son has gone to collage,new dog,my niece has moved in and ive been sick.i thought he would cling to me but he has pulled away more.he does not like my niece at all.he talks like my son.he has shown more attention to my partner.i guess ill just get what I get on his time. his not even trying to step up now.his very happy on his cage and playstand.but I want to cluddle w him.yes i agree on his reaction.i need to learn what they mean.is there a site on here to read and no what they mean..thanks again...

hi my grey is 2 years old...eats pellits and has lots of toys.the problem that im having is that I cant get him out of his cage to step up with him yelling and biting and darting me.also he will run to the back of the cage.when i get a towl and get him out and put him on top and its time to go back intot he cage sometimes he will go if i put new snacks in his cage but if he don't he will run and screem and bite and dart at me.ill walk up to his cage and ask if i can scratch his head then he darts at me so fast.i don't know what i did wrong...ive been very sick and on blood thinnners and if he does get me it will be bad.i moved him into my bedroom so he can be with me more..i thought that would help.he also likes my partner more lately..where he would nippy her.she can scratch his head...i do let him out to play for hours but its hell to get him back in.i cant even bath him right now and he needs a bath...thank you for reading and for any info u can share

hi nancy...I have had Jackson since he had no feather as a baby.i handfeed him almost a year.he was so sweet and loved me so much as I do him but now he acts like he hates me and will bite and dart at me.i need help ....It breaks my heart..i have cryed many times over it..

yes I have another grey ...Jackson he is 2 and he has my heart.....but he has become nippy now and want let me touch him...I got him when he was a baby with no feathers.i handfeed him for almost a year.he was so sweet nut now his nippy and will bite you..what happen to my sweet baby boy

hello been a few years since ive been on here.i have a 2 year old grey who is biting me also he will not step up if i ask.if he flys to the floor then he wants to step up.he darts at me at my face ,arm,hands.and ,my clothes.can i join this club...im needen help...please

jackson went to bed without his handfeeding last night.i gave him some oatmeal with a tiny bit of pbutter.so, today jackson got a new toy and his played allday with it.i really dont mind if it didnt cost so much and he wouldnt waste some.now just to get him to eat more fruits and veggie. he loves peppers and almonds.

thanks..i gave him his last feeding tonite and told him. he is a big boy now and no more feedings at night. yes he eats pellits and pbutter crackers but i offer veggies and fruit and nope he dont like them to the floor they go. he likes oatmeal i give that to him in the morn and i try to sneak some fruit or sweet pot in but his so smart he knows what im doing, he will not eat it or push the beggies to the side.he will eat red dried peppers and some nuts almonds.but his always been picky. i got him at 7weeks and its been a fight for him to eat anything good for him...thanks again for ur post

If jackson was eatting alot of it then i wouldnt mind as much but he only wants maybe 30cc or so then i have to run after him on top of his cage to get him to eat more.so, i dont wast any.tomorrow will be his last bite and we will see on griday night how he does with out it bc im not buying more.thanks for letting me know ...what you think

Could someone tell how to get my jackson to stop eatting his nightly handfeeding.he only wants bite or two.hisa 10months old and im wasting more then he is eatting...do i just stop????

I was wondering about my jackson also. his 9months old and he has those white down feather in the bottom of his cage and a few red feathers also.Love the pics of isaac. my son is named Isaac...

His is a mommy boy...He may be calling or trying to call me but theres been a few time his gotten loud when im in the room but not give him att.Ive been just not saying anything to him when he screems.

I know..he is still holding on to that last feeding at night.i mix it with peanut butter.i really dont mind feeding his feedings. he even still make baby nioses when i feed him.its good for him and he is eatting his pellits.very picky on veg and fruit.i offer them and he will turn his head or put his head down to say no. i leave it his bowl for a while but he dont try it.

Not been on much but love reading everyone post of there greys.My jacksonis growing so much his 9months old and im still handfeeding at night.ive been sick all week but feeling so much better tonight with no fever ,so, i went and got jacksona nd brought him to bed with me. he had so much fun playing in the covers and with the papers on the bed.but you can tell his a mommy baby bc he wanted to climb all over me.stay close to me.he is so much fun and i love him so much. no on the flip side of my sweet boy. he has started to screem everyday and be a little nipy. he dont bite he just nips at me with his beak. he always has.i wonder if its love nips???he had a wonderufl christmas he got under the tree and open most of the gifts and play with the wrapping paper.his so niose he likes to be in the middle of everything going on. he does get scared easy and jumps off his cage but ive moved in where now he is in thr middle of the livingroom and can see everydooropen

.his sister the other twin is growing and doing realy good.shes very playful.she is stillmuch smaller then jackson but sweet as she can be.jackson is just a big boy.well just a little check in...have a nice night..tanya

wow it must be a grey thing bc jackson gets spooked easy also. ive moved him all around the kitchen to the livingroom where he can see everything as it comes to him. he jumps to the floor also and has broken all his flight feathers on his right side.its so scarry when he does that. i try not to run to him when he does to let him claim down first so, he dont think its a game we have started.i moved him into the livving room with carpet also and he can see all doors.

why the vinegar???im glad to hear ur grey is feeling better.my jackson is 9months and i still handfeed 1 at night.i have alful cold right now and now,ill be watchen jackson closly since i was in his face feeding him and loving him. i didnt know greys could catcha a cold??he want let noone else feed him or even play with him. thanks for the update and glad willow is feeling better..love the pic also... one moew thing what is the sign for a cold ina grey???

same here..between the srceeming and now he is beaking me all the time also.i cant say its a bite.his not hurting me but i rub his head or touch him here comes the beak..beak my face,ears,nose,whatever....is this a normal grey thing???or is it a bad habit thing he is starten. his 9months old and it seems like he is growing up with some bad habits.....and plus im still handfeeding at night .would like to stop that. can someone help with that..he dont eat but a bite but its time to break that habit..thanks

i so understand where you are coming from. ive had jackson since he was 7 weeks and now he is screeming. i do yell back at him to be quite after about a hour of it and then i feel so bad thats i did.i dont understand why he does it.i cant fig. out why. i can be in the room doing something and he will. he is very spoiled and i wonder if its bc i doing something and not giving him the att. not sure yet.he has so many toys and play time out of his cage.so i guess i started something too and not sure how to break it..bad baggage.let me know what works with you.i do try to look the other way but i see it makes him screem more and louder..

ok The parents have stoped feeding the babies. My mom is sick so she cant and plus that shes never handfeed a bird before...I have handfeed serval birds in the past. so I kinda do know what i am doing.I just dont know much about lovebirds. But if the parents are not feeding them then who will??I dont take handfeed likly i do know that a bird can die very easy where being handfeed.I didnt just go take the babies from there parents bc i thought i should. I took them bc i didnt want the parents to kill them or not feed them.Thanks for the help

Thanks Dave..my moms babies are not like that...They are 4 weeks and after the second feeding they started to purk up.Become more active but not nothing like thoses babies.i feed them today some and im feeding every 4 hours .still not sure on how much to give them..they are so much smaller then the babies on the vedio.My mom is very sick and still in the hosp and the mother bird has been feeding them...

Its been awhile since ive been on. During the last 5weeks my mother has been in a coma and i was told she only had days to live...in that time during this her lovebirds have had eggs and now have hatched around 4weeks ago.but my mother has pulled through and now been moved to a diff. hosp still in icu but she is awake and my step dad will be bringing the babys to me tomorrow to hand feed.my mother will most likly be in the hosp. for another month or so.she is doing lots better but still in icu on a breathing mach.ok..im asking for help with these babys...i dont know much about them but she already have them sold to a pet store that will not handfeed them.so, im asking for help on feeding and ect....thanks so much

also jackson is doing GREAT!!!hes the love of my life. hes trying to talk..loves to play on the floor or follow me in diff rooms. but he dont like showers anymore..so, that a fight with him.but his great...tanya
