  1. I am sorry to hear about your loss:( My thoughts are with you during this sad time.
  2. Thank you all so much. I do try to take him with me but i am in the process of remodeling and always running from room to room. I hate to but for now he will have to stay in his cage until I have my down time the mornings and evenings:(
  3. Well as you know Baby is my new addition. I know he enjoys being out of his cage but he has gotton into the habit of getting down and walking around till he finds me. I think it is cute. It's just that I have almost stepped on him three times. Any suggestions?
  4. thank you so much i went from worried to honored
  5. oh yes drooping wings he had that going on. lol
  6. He was doing it while I was holding him. He seemed happy and was also being vocal at the same time. He hasn't done it since. Do they really do that to express love?
  7. I have never owned a bird before and am a little concerned about something Baby was doing last night. He looked like he was choking. He looked like he was forcing food back up and sometimes he even spit some bits of food out. like vomiting. Should I be concerned?
  8. Thank you all for sharing in my excitment. He is such a sweet bird. I am truly enjoying him. I will keep you posted on any new vocabulary he might decide to share.
  9. Wow! what a surprise. Out of nowhere this morning he finally spoke the words "What are you doing?" It's funny because that isn't one of the words I have been trying to teach him....lol Now that he said them once he keeps repeating them it is so funny it is like he knows he has made a break through.
  10. Acutally I went to the pet store to buy some finches for my brother....and a woman came in asking the clerk if she knew anyone that wanted a bird. Turns out she has 13 birds and Baby was getting left out a little. She has had him since he was a baby but felt he deserved a home that could give him all the attention he needed. So...that is how we found each other. And yes, I went to pick him up and all her birds are in perfect health. She was very good to him. At first I was hesitant since she wanted to just give him away (cage and all). I thought something must be wrong with him. But turns out she just really loves birds and knew he wasn't getting enough attention. Trust me...he is now! Thanks so much Tonia
  11. My name is Tonia. I recently adopted a Timneh African Grey. His name is Baby. He is eight years old. I have only had him a short while but we both have become quite good friends already. He is quite the character. He loves to show off and spend time with me. Since I have never owned a bird personally...I am glad to have found this forum. I am sure I will be asking plenty of questions and need advice from time to time.
  12. My newly adopted Grey is super sweet, loving and loves my attention. He is 8 years old and even though he is good at mimicing sounds like the dog, laughing, and kissing sounds he hasn't actually learned any words. He was raised around lots of other vocal birds and that has me wondering if he just chooses not to talk. I was wondering if anyone knows of a Grey starting to talk at this age.
