  1. haha I guess she really wants to talk now Paco seems not interested in the words I telling him. He only says Alo (which is hello when you pick up the phone in Bulgarian) Thanks for the extend comments, Lisa!I will go for that direction!
  2. Thank you all for your thoughts! I guess we should continue training until it comes as a routine but what bothers me still is that Paco sometimes just stays there on the perch or the cage and don't want to step up.
  3. Hello all, My Grey seems to step up on my hand but not because I am using the command "Step up". Obviously Paco is not afraid of me. He simply does that when he wants to. Now why is he like that?
  4. So they seem like everyone like we humans have a different personality and we cannot distiguish them by their capabilities..only by visual appearance, am I right?
  5. Thanks for the hint, Talon! and Dan I must admit I liked your point about the red tail...I would love to see a Grey with a combination of a TAG's bright beak and CAG's red vivid tail <br><br>Post edited by: vdineff, at: 2009/02/02 16:00
  6. Hello to you all Greys' admirers! I am wondering why most of the videos I found over the internet are with CAGs. Further more I could say most of the owners of this forum has a CAG as I look through their pictures. Are the CAGs smarter than TAGs? I haven't really got to meet a CAG but they both seem to me pretty intelligent so I cannot tell the difference. My only guess actually is that CAGs are the more popular ones so inevitably they become more wanted. I looking forward seeing your thoughts:)
  7. Another TAG owner and admirer congratulates you
  8. Well, yeah I am looking forward to advance more on him but meantime I am really starting to love that bird. :cheer: I am not really sure if it's he though but I don't want make a blood check on him...
  9. Thanks, Judy! I hope when I come back he will be willing to learn even more consistently!
  10. Hello AG admirers! One thing bothers me lately... In brief I started interacting continuosly with my TAG three and a half weeks ago(I we have him in our family from five years). On tuesday I had him on my hand for the first time so it looks like we are really starting a relationship!:cheer: The thing is I am working on my diploma's project to finish university so I went to my village leaving Paco with my brother. Paco will let my brother give him food in the cage but won't allow to be touched like I do (not that my brother would really want to). I will be on my village till end of next week. So I am worried if he is going to miss me and or will he forget what he "learned" because of the short time Really spent together? Thank you all for sharing your thoughts!

    Parrot dirt

Gee, thanks, but I guess I should still progress a little bit with Paco as he is not still get used to the step up command and haven't started really training him. Any suggestion how should I proceed after Paco becomes familiar with the step up command? And by the way Lyric as you talk about praise what exactly should I do besides smiling and saying: "Well done" or "Bravo"?

    Parrot dirt

Hello to you all! I am looking for help from you! I wanted to ask about parrot making dirt(poo). Is there a way to train it so that he knows when he is on playstand or on my hand that he shouldn't do that? Or maybe a way to train him to poo when on a particular place? Thanks for sharing your thoughts and advice over this!
  13. Hello Dan! Thank you for your welcoming! I appreciate your words about my progress with Paco. As a matter of fact I just log in to say that he got on my hand! I let him go over the cage and talk to him and gave him two of my fingers (because he is scared from the whole hand) it seemed he only wanted to fawn on them but then he started to get excited about something and go around them and then voala! he got on the fingers and then got confortable on the whole hand. I am very happy :cheer: I repeat that several times and with every time he seems to be more confident so I will continue. Thank you also to you Judy for commenting on the picture I will attach more soon. All of you guys have wonderful African Greys I looked over some of your pictures. I should say I felt a bit sad because I haven't got the chance to have Paco since he was a baby...all of yours look so sweet:lol:
  14. Thank you Lisa! I will follow your advices. I'm looking forward to see what will happen with the new toys as I also checked the article about it at nursery secton. As for the concern over biting my face I don't think this will happen as long as when I come close to him with my face he is not afraid..I even kissed him on the head and touched his beak with my nose haha <br><br>Post edited by: vdineff, at: 2009/01/27 14:20
  15. Hello again:) Thank you both for the warm welcoming! I thought I have set some pics in the common photo album but just for any case will post here also I hope you will like it:) Another thing that bothers me is that he is scared from any new object...including a small bell, a necklace or a remote control, etc. so I cannot put anything like a toy for him to entertain himself and do a little bit less plucking...Paco gets that scared that he sits or hangs at farest corner of the cage away from the toy(s). Any suggests over this? Judy, I wanted to say that he is five years living with me now...most of the time I feed him and clean his cage so he should have got used to me. Paco is not croaking to people like at the beginning but he doesn't want to step up on me yet.
