I had never heard this and when I saw the sign it concerned me because I had been whistling to Tuki and he learned it!! Glad to know it's not true!!! Thanks!!

Yea the wolf whistle is what I taught Tuki!! He does it alot! but wasn't worried cause he is trying to talk it's a bunch of mumbles still!

Hi everyone!! Just a quick question...while at the petstore the other day admiring a beautiful CAG, I read a sign next to the cage that said not to whistle to the grey because it's easier for them to do than talk and if you teach it to whistle, it will not talk. Does this have any truth? I have taught Tuki a whistle, but have tried to not do it latley because of this info at the pet store! Thanks!!

Tuki is adjusting very well!! When I picked him up yesterday his breeder said either him or his brother is talking up a storm already!! They don't know which one because they are in the same cage! But they are at least both mumbling!! Hopefully it's Tuki who is the talker! well this morning Tuki was on his playtop and decided to fly over to the bed to visit my fiance and I!! He probly was just preening! He seems much better now he is eating his pellets and climbing the bars of his cage! I will prob put some pictures up tomorrow!

thans for your help! he is on his rope perch in his cage now and he took a penut and a nutriberry from my hand!

well i managed to get him on his playtop and offered him a Nutri berry and he loves it! so hopefully he will see i give him good treats and not be afraid!

Ok I got home with Tuki around noon today! I havent taken any pictures yet because he seems to be nervous. Since i put him in his cage he just stands in his food dish and when I try to get him to step up he makes a low noise that I believe is the nervous sound. Is this normal for his first day here? I have toys in his cage but he doesn't seem to be afraid of them as he fell asleep in his food dish and i figured if he was that stressed out he prob wouldn't be sleeping. so what can I do to get him acclimated ? Also he was plucking when i first put him in, but i believe he has stopped that!

I also went to walmart and bought some Aloe Juice for Tuki! I pick him up tomorrow morning! he will definatley thank you for letting me know where to find the Aloe! Thanks!
