Hello, my name is Deanna and my husband and I have a 12 year old African Grey we raised from 1 week old. We (my husband) had another AG but she died after 3 years of kidney failure...my husband was inconsolable..and conicidentally..when I went to the pet store where we originally bought her...her full sister had just hatched a week before..I bought her and laid her on my hubbys chest and the rest of history!! One of her "clutchmates" was an F1 bengal kitten..and the two are the best of friends. We have a resdue thoroughbred, Machine to Tower who won the whirlaway and was very famouse and on his way to being slaughtered...a mini horse who barely comes to his knee, a siamese cat and an English Bulldog. The siamese cannot understand why she cannot eat the bird but is more annoyed when the grey (Molly) looks at her and Emma..is everything all right? Kind of blows the whole motiff of cat being smarter than a bird...... Well..that is all for me! Wonderful forum!

Hello forum(wonderful forum actually) - I have an 12-year-old grey who if she wants attention screeches relentlessly. Ignoring her makes her screech louder - yes she can outscreech us. She has new toys often..we change her cage often, she loves to play with my husband (she calls me bad-corn -yes...I raised her from an egg). She bites me hard.... she speaks occasionally...help...the screeching needs to stop - Should I invest in one of those 99.00 dvds???
