  3. Hello all, Our 7 month old Grey (Tizzy) is saying HELLO very very clear now. As he is only 7 months old am quite surprised. He says hello to everything though i.e. his perch his food his mirror and toys etc. LOL Is this not quite young to start saying things? He has always picked up various tunes which he whistles more or less within a day of hearing them. Wondered if this is a sign that he is going to be a good talker as he gets older? Glenn
  4. Hi all, Tizzy is now almost 20 weeks old and has been at home with us for almost 5 weeks now. He has settled in nicely and loves his environment. Constant wolf whistles for all our visitors and plenty of strange and funny sounds coming from his cage all the time. Now he has settled he loves climbing around his cage and hangs upside down with one leg? He loves doing this but we hold our breath when he does as quite often he will fall and end up at the bottom of his cage. Doesnt seem to bother him as he just gets up and makes the sound WOOOOOOOW with his whistle. I just wondered how tough they are as he doesnt half land with a thud but so far seems completely fine with it, ie doesnt shreek or look hurt? Still scares me when he falls though?
  5. Our Tizzy is now 4 and half months and has been clucking and wolf whistling since we got him 3 weeks ago. In the last 4 or 5 days he has mastered the kissing noise very well. As he growls alot I always call him a Growler when he growls. Last night he said GROWLER loud and clear.
  6. Hi all, tizzy my 4 month old grey seems to get angry for no reason? He will just suddenly fluff up his feathers and start growling at everything in his cage and even head buts his toys etc. Cant see any reason for this behaviour and he can do it at different times of the day etc. Is this common or is there something I should be doing? The rages only last for a minute at a time but he doesnt half go for it when he has a tantrum? Glenn
  7. yeh his wolf whistle is pretty good, he also likes growling and sounds like a gremlin, my wife thinks he should be called Gizmo. His latest sound is the blowing a kiss sound as thats what we do every morning and evening before bed time.
  8. Hello and thanks for all the welcomes. Glenn
  9. Hi everyone, thanks for all the welcomes on the new members area. During the last 2 days I have noticed that my 4 month baby grey flicks his head every time i talk to him? Thought it was just occasionally at first but he flicks his head every time i speak to him now? Should i be worried do you think or is it something he will grow out of doing as time goes on? Thanks Glenn
  10. Hi everyone, just joined as we have recently welcomed a new member to the family called Tizzy, he is a 4 month old african grey with a huge personality. He is not our first bird but he is our first grey. Only 4 months and he wolf whistles at everyone who enters the house and is just about saying hello. Look forward to chatting with other grey owners.
