Hi..my baby timneh's name is frankie...I have had her since she was 5 weeks old! I did hand feed her for the first few weeks as she had to take some meds for a yeast infection and some bacteria...she was abundantly weaned when I got her, but reverted back to 1 or 2 handfeedings for several weeks. She is now fully weaned and eats nutriberries, lots of fresh veg and fruit, grains, nuts an some seeds. I figured that the head bobbing had to do with her wanting to be hand fed...I wasn't sure though becasue I also have a hahn's mini macaw named mel who is 2 years old and presented this behavior just before I got Frankie...she did it while I was "preening" her. I have never been to a forum before and I am having a really hard time understanding how to move around in this thing...someone said I should go to new members and introduce myself, so I will do that and hopefully be able to figure out how to post some pictures of my birds!!

Hi...I have a 5 month old female timneh (I think that still qualifies as a baby!) and am wondering what it means when she holds my finger in her mouth and bobs her head up and down...I have heard that this is a sign that she is bonded with me, is this true? Also, how do I respond to it?
