  1. Hiya KKK, ROSIE STILL SCRATCHES ALOT ESPECIALLY ON THE HEAD BUT WILL LOWEER HER HEAD FOR A GOOD SCRATCH FROM ME :laugh: SHE ISN'T TOO KEEN ON A LIGHT MISTING BUT I'LL PERSEVERE. SHE IS MAKING US LAUGH NOW WITH HER BAD IMPRESSION OF A CATS MEOW [i HAVE A V. NON MEOW CAT ] SHES OUTTA THE CAGE 24/7 NOW AND WHEN SHE DECIDES IT'S TIME TO GO BACK IN SHE CLOSES THE DOOR BEHIND HER!!. I WAS STILL TRYING TO GET HER BACK INTO THE CAGE @ 1AM THIS MORNING:evil: JUST LIKE A NAUGHTY TODDLER SHE DID'NT WANNA GO 'TO BED' HAD TO LAUGH WHEN SHE KEPT YAWNING AT ABOUT 4PM TODAY.
  2. Thanx Dave i'll get straight to that. It does feel a little rough on neck and I was a little concerned because the previous owner [3 days] allowed her dog to get Rosie and I thought it could be scabs from teeth marks but have checked and not the case [happily] x
  3. judygram, Thanx I'll try cooler water i was just a little worried that it would be too cold being that shes still young and the weather is wintery;) Apparently the salt in the sea water is what makes the pluckers stop!! Thankfully I don't have that prob and hopefully never will :huh: .....hopefully! lol x
  4. judygram, many thanx for your advice, I did try warm water misting but she was'nt too impressed:angry: I will try Aloe Vera juice and see where I can get some. I spoke to a parrot keeper the other day and he recommended sea waterB) for any birds who pluck badly has anyone else heard of this cure??
  5. Hi, I have a lovely 6 month old CAG who seems to be scratching her head alot lately and I think she's goin to make it quite sore/bald could it be mites? I've tried spraying her with warm water to ease the problem but don't really know what to do :dry: can anyone help please? before it gets bad habit. thanx
  6. danmcq, Well she made a sound over and over this morning that sounded like a cat:S...I had to laugh really because the cat rarely ever meows :ohmy: She is getting more verbal though and it amazes me just how many different sounds she does actually make :blink: she went to bite me today and promptly after being told off followed with a kiss :woohoo:
  7. Hiya, Can anyone tell me at what age CAG start talking please?:blink: It's just that I'm sure I heard Rosie trying to verbalise tonight:ohmy:...she was being quite cheeking and playful but this sound was'nt the usual parrot sound....if u know what I mean? it seems like she was startin to try and say a word. I just thought it would be quite a while before she starts talking...if at all x
  8. Lots of kisses today guys....and of course lots of treats :woohoo:
  9. luvparrots.........even braver coz I'm a girl:P it was a bit of a tug o war with the buscuit....guess who won?? Rosie has been really good on first day home and only occasionally went to give baby nips but with a firm NO she decided not to bother:kiss: shes also getting along well with my partner even though breeder said she does'nt really like men:ohmy:
  10. Hi everyone:) Hope you like my new profile pic?...not bad sharing a buscuit with my 'new baby' in less than 24 hours how proud am I :woohoo: Our new CAGs name is Rosie and she was born in july she came from breeder on saturday...careless new owner on sunday..:angry:[dog nearly ate bird]...then forever home with us on wednesday....she's better travelled than I am:dry: but shes been sooo good very well behaved and lots of socialising....Nothing done in house but very happy baby parrot!:cheer:
  11. EFGriffith and slmclean, I don't mind her injury shes sooo sweet hopefully bring her home tonight :woohoo: I just spoke to breeder who sez leg was brocken not deficiency which can shorten her life:ohmy: so I'll let you guys know how baby settles:laugh: can't wait xx
  12. Hiya, Has anyone on here had a parrot with sideturning foot? [where mum sat on it when small] Do they ajust o.k. or will it always have problems with balance?
  13. Well quick up-date everyone, I have seen the beautiful birdy and just got back! She let me stroke her foot first, then her wing side, then finally her neck:woohoo: so I think that it's looking quite good on first meet...slowly and gently is the way forward. I feel really privalidged that she put that much trust in me already and I'm still gushing:woohoo: She has a foot that turns sideways where mum bird sat on her when she was young:ohmy:but she seems healthy otherwise. The young lady owner said shes had her since saturday and although she tells me her dog won't leave parrot alone she's asked that she speaks to all the family to see if getting rid of bird is only option...so although I was a bit dissapointed not to be bringing her home tonight I want the owner to be comfortable in her mind that we will love her as much as she does......fingers crossed she makes up her mind soon
  14. P.S. Just confirmed...it is a congo::woohoo:
  15. Sorry cflanny, no not from a breeder...private seller. She says her small dog keeps jumping at the cage and shes worried if parrot gets out the dog will eat it!:ohmy: I will find out if 'shes' [owner unsure] sociable around everyday stuff. Many thanx x
