CAN ANYONE HELP WITH MY GREY HIS NAME IS SPARKY AND 6 YEARS OLD, BUT WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HIS BEAK GROWING THE LOWER BEAK IS OVER GROWING AND TWISTED HE HAD IT TRIMMED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND IT IS NOW STARTED GROWING AGAIN IT IS COSTING US A FORTUNE AT THE AVIAN VETS EVERY 2 TO 3 MTHS OF GETTING IT TRIMMED,HIS TOP BEAK IS FINE NO PROBS AT ALL BUT WE NEED HELP PLEASE....CAN ANYONE THINK OF SOMETHING FOR HIM TO CHEW OR A BAR OF SOMETHING TO CURE THIS,HE WILL NOT CHEW TOYS OR EVEN PLAY WITH THEM THAT IS A PROBLEM A BIG ONE CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING PLEASE.......

I HAVE A AMAZON WITH ASPERGELLIOS DISEASE AND SHE CAN BE QUIET BAD AT TIMES BEEN TO MY LOCAL AVIAN VET AND HE CANNOT DO ANYTHING FOR HER SHE HAS PICKED UP A BIT THANKS TO CUCUMBER TO WHAT IS IN IT I AM NOT TO SURE BUT THE VET IS VERY SURPRISED THAT SHE IS STILL HERE AFTER BEING DIAGONOSED ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO WITH IT AND HE EVEN SAYS IT IS STRANGE THAT SHE IS TILL HERE JUST CAN'T UNDERSTAND IT WITH THE CUCUMBER SO THAT IS A STRANGE ONE HE SAYS BUT WE ARE HAPPY SHE IS HERE AND STAYING HERE AS LONG AS SHE FIGHTS WE FIGHT WITH HER ALL THE WAY SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL BIRD

hi everybody not happy hear got an amazon called charlie and a grey called Sparky and the prbolem is screaming charlie has taught sparky how to scream and its terrible do anybody know any tips on how to stop it or charlie to stop it its earache stuff its terrible,he screams when my husband and i are not in the room with him and when i leave him with my husband so i do have a problem:ohmy: what can i do help :pinch:

WELL OUR SPARKY LOVES HIS HOMEMADE SOUP I MAKE POTATO AND LENTIL IN THE WINTER MONTHS ITS GREAT AND HE LOVES IT VEGTABLES AND LENTILS ETC HE GETS 3 SPOONS OF IT HE DOES ENJOY IT AND EVEN ASKS FOR MORE IT IS GOOD FOR THEM SO OUR VET TOLD US VEGS AND LENTILS GREAT.

well guess what folks this is it tonight for sparky bird on the 10th dec at 10-pm on e4 rude tube a little bit excited so thought i would remind you all about tonight.

:cheer: hi everybody the vet here is Mr Lawrie,Cumbernauld, Glasgow,Scotland, very good and reasonable he has other vets there too but he is the avian vet and the only vet near us.The next avian vet is Aberdeen, in Scotland.

:woohoo: Our sparky's diet is seed based with a lot of dry fruit and chillies two times a day morning and evening and he also gets apples, bananas,grapes,anything at all even cornflakes in the morning with some dried fruit also he loves it.He does't like millet spray I have tried him many times but alas no go at all.Our amazon charlie loves it but him no go at all,her diet it is mostly the same except she has to have cucumber in the morning 3 peices under the vet there is something in this cucumber we do not know the vet is still surprised that she is still here after being diagnoised with aspergellious disease about 3years ago he is stunned he keeps saying to us what is in cucumber he is very surprised and she is still here fighting away so sparky now gets it and he loves it also.:woohoo:

A very interested in this debate I do know from our vet that dirty monkey nuts as we call them here is dangerous for our parrots as they can cause disease.When we got our charlie the amazon she was not well and we took her to the vet to find out what was wrong with her,he took some blood and x-rays and various tests too,and he asked us if we fed her dirty food such as peanuts,and sunflower seeds,we said no she came to us like this we did not know what was wrong with her as she had water coming down her nose and not going up on her perch,she was diagnois with ASPERGELLIOUS disease due to being fed dirty food and not looked after properly that was 6 yrs ago and beleive it or not she is still here with us to this day for how long nobody knows each day as it comes with her,one day fine the other bad,breathing like somebody having an asthma attack and gasping for breath this is due to dirty peanuts.So please make sure that the nuts you give are clean on the outside please,dirty or rotten in the bid.

Hello there our sparky used to do that too and he still does from time to time it is either a feather coming out or he is listening to you and taking it in as they say and he still does it to this day,they listen all the time and the next moment he will speak to you with the words that he has been listening to,it does slow down when they get older my grey is 5yrs.old and he still does to catch the word and then he is talking and saying the word or phrase.

Thanks for the enquiring at 10p.m at night hope you enjoy it we did in making it.Let us hope that other members enjoy it to do not know the content yet I hope you have a sense of humour because you will need it belive me he is wee cheeky boy and very rude indeed especially when he does't get his own way he is spoilt rotten this side he is my friend,my wee boy etc. Hope you all enjoy it on the 3rd DEC on E4 at 10 o'clock.:cheer:

:woohoo: Well folks we think our sparky is the most spoilt bird in the world he gets what he wants like this is a typical day for sparky,gets up when he wants gets his breakfast then gets clean out and have a cup of tea and toast with me in the morning just a little bit,then he gets his apple,banana,grapes fresh seed etc.and then a bath or shower everyday. When he cleans his cage oh dear?.At teatime is a fully sceaming session with him for his 6 chips and anything what we have he is terrible.Always on my shoulder going upstairs or downstairs he is always ther even on the hoover top playing and shouting (I'm here mum come and get me carry me please thank you.He is so spoilt he is my baby friend he gives me such joy and happiness he is a great friend.

Welcome wingnut to the site it is good to hear that someone like yourself will take an african grey at that age of 10 in to your home great news,we actually took in an amazon parrot who was abused and it is the best thing we done she is fine now but does have ASPERGELLIOUS disease so we do not know how long she has got but as long as she fights we will fight with her but anyway welcome.

Well had a bad day today but had happy news at the same time the email about sparky our beloved african grey my son as people say around here where we stay,he is going to be on E4 on December the 3rd so we are looking forward to that,we also got and invite to go on celebrity ding dong with him but i said no thanks,and we even got to go on with the chef of all time Gordon Ramsay tv show but also declined to they wanted him to be on to as himself and me cooking into a web cam but no way folks,it is not that I can,t cook I can but that is not the point cooking with your grey watching and shouting and swearing that,s what they want and no means no here,so that was my day so far.Had to go out and went up town with my neighbour to do a bit of shopping as she takes me up and brings me back home safely and sound it was alright but glad to back home again,so just getting ready to go to bed now it is late about 12.25 here.

Guess what everybody got and e.mail from the producer of rude tube on channel E4.Our SPARKY is coming on there show on DECEMBER the 3RD on E4 it has made my day as they say been awaiting for this for a long time so it seems,well only like 3 months so this is it.If yu are offended do not watch by a few swear words,but it is his scottish accent that people want and the way he says things so that,s the news from this side so happy here.:woohoo:
